^^ lol!

Yeah you would think so. But Fynetune is expensive for almost the same reasons that PTuning is.. they have a nice and clean shop and really expensive equipment.

They only way they'll lower their prices is if another shop opens up around them and also has an AWD dyno.

^^^

THERE ARE SHOPS AROUND THE AREA WITH AWD DYNOS THAT CHARGE LESS...

btw.. ALMOST ALL SHOPS HAVE NICE EXPENSIVE EQUIPMENT... lol.. most of the equipment ppl like lujan, jptuning, fyntune, gaw, mcp etc etc all use the same tools lol... just because u mop the floor and have a nice warehouse doesnt mean you are > lol... MCP is tiny and messy at times and your gonna say they are less of a shop.. or gaw or lujan... c'mon man lol not knocking on fyntune they are up there but there are plenty of places in dade and broward to go to.. all within reasonable driving distances and pricing.

And I guess they are all fairly new and they all have the same overhead?

Dude, don't dog a shop because it charges so much - if it's not in your budget, don't go there.

Shops are businesses - they try to make as much money as possible. Why do you think PTuning is so expensive? And some shops keep their prices high to attract certain types of customers. They don't want kids coming around begging for a dyno run for $50.

I will always spend the extra money to go to a well maintained and clean shop, simply because it shows how much they care. Places like this will actually put time and effort into perfecting a job, where so many other shops will just do what they can to make the most money.

dude im not doging them are you blind? lol why would i pay more for the same thing at one place when i can go cheaper someplace else with equal or greater product lol.. if u like going there fine good for you.. ive gone there also with many friends.. its not a big deal like any other shop out there. but ive also visited and delt with many shops in dade and broward... probably more then the average guy... again not doging them but ppl should know they have options other then the shop down the corner with the fancy gadgets

and sorry but if you make the little guys happy VS the "deep pockets" chances are your always going to get business.. word of mouth is alot stronger then just deep pockets and most little guys will come back and bring friends etc etc .... and the chain continues...

lujan which had a much smaller shop, less fancy equipement, and maybe not the overhead you say FT had has a much larger rep for putting out high whp cars..(even though they are srt4 specialists) and at one point has the usa's fastest srt4. and 3rd fastest fox body. fancy equipment doesnt mean much...

i can agree and disagree with you there.. its nice going to a clean place.. but at the same time.. good shops can get very busy which sometimes is messy lol... ive seen messy places do fantastic work. (my friend kiko) who owns a shop in broward has a messy shop sometimes but u cant blame him for having a warehouse and parking lot full of sc300, corollas, hondas, lexus's, and supras all coming to him on a weekly basis for work... and his work is freaking impeccable for such a small shop... far superior to alot of other shops ive seen with more space and workers... and that shop is full 24/7 with cars on average in the 4-700 whp range daily driven.. presence in nice.. but quality, good price, and good service + word of mouth is almost if not important.

Understood - people should know their options.

Just as Lujan has their set of customers, Fynetune has theirs.

I've seen Lujan's shop and it gave me horrid memories of a particular Audi/VW shop that was just as small and dirty.. however that didn't bother me. What bothered me was the poor office management that eventually lead to their demise - and me without ordered parts and lots of hassles.

I just feel more comfortable with a shop that makes money and can continue to be in business - again not saying Lujan won't - it just reminded me of a shop that wasn't so good.

I ended up with the Turbonetics for several reasons:

1.) Recirc BOV
2.) Ball bearing turbo (now with a wet center housing)
3.) Recirc wastegate dump
4.) Comes pretuned - good enough for a few months before a "clean-up" tune

It had all the little quirks that I wanted plus it's convenient for me. If I got a kit with FIC or eManage, I would have to get it tuned right away.

^^ Perhaps.. but I have a good feeling I won't be able to afford their kit

I also want a Tnetics because of the bad rep they have here... I want to prove otherwise to the skeptics.

Good point. I'm sure it will be well worth it though, like their exhaust. I got to see their manifold upclose and . It held up nice and strong even during the 80+mph crash.

lol

Hopefully the new turbos they have on the newer kits will prevent all that.. The turbo now comes with a wet housing.

Yeah - Turbonetics said that the seals would break not due to excessive pressure, but because there was too much heat. This would make sense - as every other ball bearing turbo I've ever seen has a wet center housing. Not sure why theirs didn't from the get-go.
