It sounds like whatever your exhaust would sound like that's on the car.

Imagine your normal exhaust system. Now cut a section out of it and with a flap that closes off the exhaust system and diverts it now out of another shorter pipe that has no restrictions. That's why it's called a "cutout".

i run stock exhaust but used a 2.5 inch cutout. it really depends on the size of the y-pipe you install. mine is installed right after the midpipe/s-pipe flange and replaces the cat.

Anyone running the QTEC with the manual switch? The one that you can control when you want it to open. I would assume this is better especially around the California area considering the laws with mods here are pretty harsh so sound would be an issue. As for the tune, you would need one for closed and another for open I'm assuming?

i think it really depends on your exhoust set up especially if your using a catalytic converter. If your using mostly after market (larger pipes say 2.5) and no cat's then you really shouldn't need to have two tunes but im not saying that having a special tune for open dump (opened valve) will not net a better over all gain. just saying that its not entirely necessary. now if your using all stock components save for the down pipe and s-pipe but with a catalytic converter then it may be necessary to have two tunes.
