i dont have a cut out
but i often go from stock exhaust to open downpipe without changing the tune
no problems
of course you could get more power out of it with a tune for exhaust and a tune for no exhaust

if its the stock mid-pipe (i suggest mid-pipe be the location of the cut-out) i think you can use a 2.5 but i would look for a 2.25 which i dont think anyone makes. i have the megan mid-pipe so i went with the 2.5 and everything worked out pretty good. get that sucker done at a muffler shop though cause they got to flare out the ends of the cutout in order to slip it over the mid and weld it.

I had mine installed on the s-pipe, I wanted to stay as close to the turbo as possible.

well mainly becouse its quicker to install and service if you have a leak at any point and the fact that if you put it ahead of an 02 sensor your gonna have problems. Becouse of the positioning of mine i can reach it without even jacking up the car, so say the valve becomes worn and starts to leak i can work with it with little effort and is still very close to the s-pipe. to be honest with you its more valuable to me to keep it accesable then to have it just a few more inches closer to the turbo that may gain you 2-5 more hp maybe (just a guess on the power numbers but cant emagine it being much more than that). keep in mind that eventually you will have to service that valve, clean the valve, tighten bolts, add rtv to the valve when it leaks, ect. i havnt heard of anyone who hasnt had one leak on em after a couple of years but then again thers got to be someone out ther...idk just my opinion
