Default DESCENDENT Turbo Install in my RS 2.0

Earlier this year, I decided to put a little “go” in my tC and I opted for the World Racing DESCENDENT Turbo. I am SO happy that I opted for this kit as the guys at World Racing really know what they are doing! Rob was so wonderful in getting me the parts (even with the delay in some of the 2nd version parts) and was amazingly patient with my midnight texts during the install!

We learned a few things along the way with the install… Because I have an automatic tranny, we had to remove the transmission hard lines and re-route the transmissions lines into the tranny cooler for clearance. And, we installed the Mishimotto cooling system for added performance and clearance. I also added a new Skunk2 exhaust with a custom high flow cat and a 3” flange to meet up with the 3” turbo down pipe. The biggest hurdle was an electrical “gremlin” with the AEM F/IC. We kept having a problem with a very low pitched hum (from the engine bay) and the AEM F/IC kept the throttle body and fuel system energized when the car was turned off. We thought it had something to do with the aftermarket remote start alarm system so we removed that and we thought that did the trick. But, the hum was still there and the battery would not stay charged. So after some intensive research by my husband it seems there is a shared ground wire for the ’06 automatic tCs and this wire, along with the AEM F/IC piggyback cause the loop. So, to remedy this, David inserted a diode into the signal ground wire (on the F/IC) that cut the loop. No more gremlin!

After everything (tuning and wrapping) was done, the car is putting down 209 at the wheels with 6psi. (I went with the mild tune because the car is a driver and I don’t want to destroy the transmission.) I am really loving the low end torque and the boost!!!

Many many thanks to my husband David (aka Box Rod) numerous friends (Geoffrey, Greg, Steve, Stephen, Tammy and LD), Rob at World Racing and his crew and Paul at Dezod for all their help in either turning wrenches, answering questions or moral support!!! And thanks to Decker, Shariff and the crew at Forged Performance in Atlanta for a solid tune!

Nice I meant to ask you if everything went smoothly on the install. I think I saw you pass by the V downtown last month during the meet but I was too far away to tell if the kit was on or not.

Thanks Paul! And, did you see the part about the diode? The remote start was not the only issue!

very nice, do you have any pics of where you mounted the transmission cooler and how you rerouted the lines to it, also what kind of heat wrap did you use?
