Dezod EMS - Updated 12/16 - ALL HAVE BEEN SHIPPED
#24
Ok guys, the EMS is a done deal. We're happy with the results and it will be ready to ship as early as next week. We're making a GB in a different though for purchase information, but I'd like to keep this thread here for techincal information and support.
Here's a rundown...
The EMS is a serial bus interface. You will need a compliant adapter, and a computer in order to program your own settings into this unit. Software will be included in the price. This unit will take some time to figure out on your own, but it is doable. I of course will recommend a basemap which is good on ANY FI setup. What's nice is that this is a smart ECU. The value we put on simply modifies the stock o2 sensor input. It will allow you to always run your desired AFR, and by boost pressure, not just RPM. So from vac to about 2psi, there won't be a single change in the tune. From 2psi up, and as the revs increase, we will have it tuned to steadily enrichen your air fuel ratio so you make a smooth transition into boost. This unit will work with GReddy Emanage Blue and Ultimate, Unichip, SAFC, and any other MAF based tuning device. It works IN JUNCTION with a piggy back unit. This unit is not a closed loop tuning device, and will not adjust ignition timing. It will leave your WOT alone, but will offer MUCH safer AFRs for partial throttle. Benefits will be smoother power, more power, more reliable power, and better throttle control which is key for any road racer or auto-x driver. The hook up is simple and will tie into any OEM ECU harness, or our Dezod PnP harness options. It uses four wires, and a vacuum source. 1 wire for power, 1 for GND, 1 for tach, 1 for AFR1. This unit is covered in ABS plastic and will fit inside your glove box, or inside the center armrest.
If you have any questions let me know!
It will be listed on the site for $249.99 shipped.
A Group Buy will be structured momentarily for the following prices:
10 People: $225
20+ People: $205 shipped.
Add our pre-tune option for
Add $35 if a pre-tune is requested This allows you to simply connect the 4 wires and vacuum source, and drive away!
Any other questions guys let me know!

No pics yet sorry guys. We're looking to "clean up" the look of my glove box right now haha. I have a lot of things going on with the car right now in terms of development.

What kinda a/f's should we see with partial throttle with this unit? I have the unichip from turbonetics still with the stock tune. Will this effect my tune or would a re-tune be in order? Unichips tuners arnt easy to find.

It will not affect that tune at all.
Expect AFRs to be stock at idle, and in vac. As you transition into more boost the AFR will slowly start to enrichen itself to a point of about 11.5 (Assuming you're making over 7psi with open loop).

Right into the PnP harness or the ECU main harness itself.
I will make a wiring diagram for everyone that buys it.
It's a COM (serial) interface.
You can only tune it outside of your car if you have a 12V AC to DC converter, and if you want to continually wire in the EMS, cut the wires, and wire it back it every time you make a change. Buying a PDA based USB to Serial adapter with a USB extenstion cable will work too, as long as you get the drivers to work. With our pre-tune, it will all be done for you, so just wire it in and go.
You're tune will be 14.7 at idle. It will be at let's say, 13 for about 3 psi, and then 12 at about 6-7 psi, and richen up a little bit more as the boost goes up.

I bought a Bosch 30A relay. I wired a deditcated constant +12V from the battery to the relay with 14AWG wire. I then grounded the relay. I tapped the +12V ECU wire and used that to be the "trigger" for the relay. I wired up the output +12V wire from the relay to 2 15A barrel type fuses that I mounted outside of the ABS plastic box I made to hold the relay. It's an all-in-one unit that's fused, and has the ability to power every extra electrical system I have. This one relay system powers my AVCR, my RSM-GP, the AEM wideband, the secondary EMS, and my Pioneer iPod bus system.
