oh wow... thats been over a year since i got it.... um like 10 days or so if I can remember correctly. I only use it so I don't have to carry that much cash on me. But yeah listen to citizen I almost got denied for my student loan just because I had like 2k on it from my blown motor fiasco. Had to pay it off before my school wouldn't even consider giving me a loan.

A good rule of thumb is that if you're using a CC for pleasure purchases, if you can't pay it off in less than sixth months that put the card away and put some money in the bank til you can.

Sorry to sound like I'm preaching but my mom is a loan officer of 26 years and all I heard about growin up is how many people our age screwed up with credit cards...

i can't believe you guys put a turbo on a credit card. Wow...any purchase over $1000 is saved for in my world. I cannot justify paying interest on it. It makes the purchase cost even more just because you are impatient.

Yeah, i'm in the same boat. My dad has ~20 years in the mortgage business and i too have been fed the credit card speeches for a long time.

i dont have to worry too much though. my cards' limit is only $500!

if/when i do go turbo though, it won't be any kit... ;)

Mine too. I had a perfect record before I got it though. No late payments on cell or insurance or anything. Wells Fargo doesn't trust me.

I have a $9500 limit on one card and a $3500 limit on the other one. They keep raising the limit, but I never have much on them. I use them and pay them off. I could get myself into a lot of trouble if I were less responsible though...

Heh heh guys my credit score is outta the ball park for my age... My parents cosigned for my first two cars.. I turned 18 and had a 700+ credit score

I applied for Bank of America and they approved me with a 10K limit but I never followed through because I knew I'm an impulsive buyer and probably would have maxed it haha

So I use amex and have a $4,800 limit... Highest it ever saw was $3,300 for about three days until I immediately payed off my SC... Too be totally honest I'm scared to death of them after seeing what just 2K nearly did to me going to school.... As childish as it sounds I gave the card to my mom because everytime I think of using it for a car part this the series of how it goes:

Me -
Mom -
Me-
Mom -
Me -
Mom -
Me -
Mom -
Two days later when I realise I didn't REALLY NEED what I was trying to use my card for I'm thankful. she let me use it when the engine blew instead of tapping into my IRA so if I need it she'll give it to me. she's my financial advisor haha

No worries man, i can afford it I do well on $$$. Just wanna use a CC for this purchase to build more credit. Reason why i'm waiting for the CC to buy. Only line of credit i have is my $4000 car loan, and i plan on buying a home next year, so i def need to have some credit

LOL... But I have a 700+ credit score too and that is all they would offer!? Whatever... at least if the gf gets a hold of it she can't do any damage.

/\/\ i applied at first citizens cuz its where i bank at and where i have my loan through, so i figured of all places maybe i'd get the best limit there, but we'll see. So you said 10 days? 10 calender days or 10 business days? So far its been 9 calender days since i applied.
