A lot of people confuse trim with A/R... it's a common mistake.

Take some measurements - only way to tell for sure.

yea it seems that way. i found a site and it lists some measurements for a t3/t04e turbo. There are 2 measurements for the compressor trim for each size from 40 to 60-1.
Im guessing one measurement is the smaller measurement of the turbine and the second is the larger measurement of the turbine. It seems i might have a 57a/r comp. But im still looking for some hard evidence measurements of the turbines to compare. I will prolly have to disassemble to do this?

The inducer is smaller than the exducer on the compressor side. The exducer is larger smaller than the inducer on the exhaust side.

Yes you should unbolt the housings to get the most accurate measurements.

ok ima take it apart and take some measurements. This thing needs a cleaning too. Whats a good solvent to use?

Any engine degreaser will do. You can even dilute it a little if you're worried about it.

Ok i measure the comp wheel the minor diameter was 2.12 and the major diameter was 3.0. I cant seem to find anything that would tell me compressor a/r. Help please! Im still searching the net. Oh its definitely a 50trim with those measurements. But trim is not the same as comp a/r.

Usually the AR is stamped on the outside or sometimes on the inside of the housing where the compressor outlet is.

I will check that link but i dont see it stamped anywhere on my turbonetics comp housing. All i see is a number stamped inside the turbo inlet but nothing in the comp out or in. I got an E50 engraved into the comp housign but that obviously mean its a t04E 50trim compresor housing.

I'm pretty sure most T04B housings are .50AR while T04E are .60AR. T04S are usually .70AR.

For what it's worth, compressor housing AR doesn't really affect turbo performance much. It's the turbine housing that can make big changes in a turbo.

this formula aint working out. its saying a/r will be like .9 for the compressor.

ok yea i did read that. well then as long as i know my turbo a/r im fine. What turbo comes with the turbonetics kit? Isnt mine similar? t3/t04e 50trim is what i ahve with a .63a/r for the turbo.

Yea the Tnetics comes with a Ball-bearing T04E 50trim .48 A/R hotside with a Stage 2 wheel.

Yours may be a Stage 3 - not sure - did you measure it?

I know the a/r on the exhasut side. Is it for stage of the wheel? If so i cant find my 1/2 combo wrench and a 1/2 socket wrench wont fit int here to get that side off. If so i guess i will do a lil more looking around for it and measure that wheel.
