DIY BOV on s/c UPDATED WITH MORE PICS AND VIDS
ok so this project wont take long but its always better with people helping you. this is the list of supplies you need.
1. bov (i used a turbo xs RFL)
1. plug from nappa store.
1. 10 inch socket
1. extention for socket
1. wrench
1. small flathead screwdriver
1. i think its 6 inch socket (to remove intake hoses)
Im gonna make this easy as possible but bare with me cuz this is my first write up.
first pop ur hood. start by taking off you intake. i have the origanal drop in filter box, so unplug ur MAFS and then take off the lid, take the filter off, then use ur 10 inch socket and take out the 3 bolts that holds the bottom on. now take your 6 inch socket and loosen the band that holds the tubing on. now loosen the tubing band on the other side of the intake tube. ok take out the intake tubing. now me, i like things the easy way even though it takes a little longer so first take off the band that holds the bpv to the t/b hose.
you have to really loosen it up cuz the little elbow hose has a lip on the inside. take that out and then follow that hose to the bottom of the s/c where it connects and pull that off. look at ur bpv and pull that little hose off the end and now the whole thing (tubing and bpv) should come out.
now take off ur t/b hose for the s/c end and t/b end.
now your gonna have 3 bolts that hold the cover of ur s/c on the end that the intake came off of.
take these off and just pull ur cover off. this helps to put the plug in. now put the plug in where the long tube that was connected to the BPV was
and tighten it so that its on there pretty good.
now that its in put the cover back on. now here comes the final part. with the turbo xs bov it comes with washers. if ur running normal boost (7 psi) then u dont put any in. but if ur like me and run 9.5 psi then u need to screw off the top, take the spring out and put a (1) washer on the bottom and put the spring back and screw it on. now take ur t/b tubing and slide the bov right on dont forget to put the band on hole to tighten when ur done. note: it is not a simple fit, i used the small screwdriver to help unfold the sides while pushing it in.
once the struggling is over and its on you can start putting things back together. first start with the t/b tubing and then when thats together put the intake tubing back on. put the 3 bolts back on the intake box, put the filter in and close it all up.plug the MAFS back in and start up the car. rev it up and let the nosie begin.
MAFS=Mas Air Flow Sensor, T/B= Throttle Body, S/C= Supercharger. i know im not up to terms on what part is what but i tryed my best.
