Default DIY Guide on TRD Supercharger!

For those that are interested on what all is involved with the TRD Supercharger install, I uploaded a 58 step/photo guide of the process when we had ours installed at the dealership.

Check out this website too, very cool site. You are able to add/read reviews on products and create a profile to show off your car.

That is great i was planning to install the S/C myself when i pick it up sometimes in August and this is going to be fun. Any possible way though you could make a list of all the tools required?

Go to TRD Sparks' website and look up the supercharger. They have a link with the installation instructions and a list of all tools needed.

Is there a reason you're not getting the supercharger installed by a dealer? Figuring that dealers charge between 300 and 500 for an average installation...isn't it worth it to keep things under warranty? Anyway, not flaming you or anything, just asking an honest question.

Oh i just thought it be fun to do it myself but yea just debating but i might end up letting dealer do it for warranty. But I asked my dealer and they said they will only warranty it for 1 year because they installed it. Is that right? so what if my S/C goes wrong after a year? What would i do?

hwo do you guys with the s/c like them? I want to get some F/I goin.. but deciding which to do. the s/c is obviously cheaper but I also want to be able to keep up with the big boys. kinda torn between what to do.. s/c means power faster for me.. cause i could buy it sooner than a turbo.. but turbo's have more room for gains in more power.. soo confused

Default I got quoted

I got quoted 736.00 for install, said 8 hours @ 92 bucks an hour.

I was hoping no more than $500, but... I'll keep check.

if you want to keep up with the big boys, you need Turbo.
And u will need the dealer to reflash for the Supercharger.

I go with the SC because it is cheaper than Turbo and i need the warranty. (few people have their SC bracket broken)

The dealer quot me $800 for installation. I am going to get it done next Tuesday.

If u got the skill to install Supercharger, why not go with Turbo instead?

I'm a "DIY" person. I'll probably go with a Dezod TB.. but since they're opening up a facility in AZ.. I'll just drive down and have the thing installed and tuned correctly.

The S/C seems kinda disappointing for power.. and i don't know if the whine is loud enough for me.. though I haven't heard many of them so *shrug* we'll see.

The link has now died. Fabulous. Does anyone know what color the TRD injectors are?
