do the '07's (tc) still have/use a reflash Map module?
like the title says. i've had nothin but bad service from scion and have been mis-led and informed....which had lead me to doing my own research, and i see alot of topics about the "reflash Map module" and i never recieved a map module.....so i called the stealership, the tech on the phone said that the '07s dont need/use/or come with the module. Sorry to say, after my past experience i do not believe them....can anyone who knows about this please chime in and help me??
thanks for any help

Do you have a supercharger? If not then it is entirely unneeded. If you do, you still don't need one. The module is used by the dealership to reflash your ecu if you have the supercharger installed. Past threads might be referring to dealerships who did not have a the module yet when somebody was having a s/c installed and were attempting to charge the customer for the module itself.

no, this is what he is referring to.
the old flash system was hideous...one time only and required the service station to purchase a $500 tool. the automatics then required a 2nd flash on top of that which was supplied by the internal tis site.
on the '07 reflashing is done via TIS to limit the headache. Your ecm got reflashed, just via download not hardware.

I know what that is. Im asking if hes talking about this ^ It's for "future service needs" and they told me to leave it in the car somewhere, because it might be needed at a later date. Dunno what it does... but it's s/c related.

NOPE!!! there's no more crappy data module! (go TRD!)
it's all done using TIS and Toyota's current diagnostic and scantools... you're safe... you don't need one of those crappy things.

no.. the module that you pictured contains the new mapping data that needs to be tranferred into the ECU..
that's done using the now obsolete POS data transfer tool which the dealership needs to special order to have
(they are alloted to only be able to buy one as well)
in case that you need a new ECU, you have that module to reload the data into the new ECU.... hoping that a dealership has that transfer tool that you'd need... it's crap really..
new way is better.

that's not entirely correct.
the ECM reflash module on the 05/06 is ONE TIME only. If you get a new ECM or have a failure that requires a reflash you need to get another unused map module.
during the reflash process, the map module itself is programmed as well.
Despite the verbiage on the little map module box and in the s/c instructions...you do not have to leave that paperweight in your car...it is useless to you after it has been used.
