Dyno-Comp Does It AGAIN.... GRR *pics*
Yeah... I noticed my bottom RIGHT(correction) ex. manifold stud didnt have a washer or a nut on it tonight at school.
So I thought, "ok get to the resource center and pick up some."
So I did, I walk back out to my car as I'm reaching down to touch the stud I noticed a lot of freeplay moving on the stud.
I'm like "great, it came loose, no big easy fix"
Well after I was spinning it for 10 seconds I noticed it just kept spinning..
I was like "oh god no, dont tell me dynocomp stripped this" Well I grabbed the stud and the thing just came right out. I was like "FU$K! NO! SON OF A B ITCH!"
My friend stood in disbelief. He grabs the stud from me after I'm flippin $hit in the parking lot at school and was like "Hey Zach, you might want to take a look at this.."
He hands me the stud and he goes.. "Zach, this stud isnt stripped nor did it just snap off... it was over torqued."
I go "your kidding right" and he showed me the lines on the stud to make his point valid. I could not believe my eyes. You could see the motion of the lines. I go "no it had to of just snapped off." We take it and show my instuctor and he was like "oh god yeah, this was way over torqued, I can see the lines!" *then he pointed and showed me the exact same spot my friend showed me*
Needless to say, I now have TWO broke exhaust manifold studs... AGAIN. This time it is dyno-comp to blame... I wil be calling them in the morning and getting this crap resolved ASAP. I am NOT paying for this.

I had 2 snapped bolts...but sure enough stuck in a performance head...not a tC of course....had to get it milled 2 times...S.O.B Haynes...wrong Torque #s/lbs or inch....they say LBS when it should be Inch ...now i know...thank god the guy was cool n didnt charge me for it...but wasted a head gasket...but i had another....all good
is it a clean snap? or is there some grip? that say a sharp hard metal material can grab and rotate? Might take a while, but a HELL of a lot easier than taking off the head...or you can get someone to come to the house and drill it...if they have the right size...what did you have to do last time?
Thats a S.O.B though, sorry to hear....how do they OVER tighten? Morons....what are they tightenin with? A air guN? ...................

Its a very easy thing to do on those bolts, meaning overtighten. I havent heard of a tC yet to have this happen. I believe the stock tq setting it 22lb. so its not as tight as most people would guess.

Naw man, I didnt take it like that. I would be ____ed if I were you too. What were they doing to your car anyway to be messing around with those bolts? I thought you did all your own work.

Looking a little dirty there Zach. But I know you have a lot more to worry about than dirty engine bays...
Signing on to see how things go.
By the way, what are your EGT readings?
