Best time was like a 14.2 lol
Traps were between 110-112
Also I was getting massive heatsoak - iat's were really high and causing it to run really rich - like 10.5-11.0 (on a gas scale)

This was on my setup on 17 psi (built bottom end - 9:1 comp, E85, 60-1)

Should be going to a local track soon at night in oct when the temps are 60-70

Well if u trapped 112 then according to SPDRCR u should be around 500whp

So a couple things Ive noticed...

A) Im running ES mounts, however my car hops like a bunny if I try to go WOT in 2nd gear Spinning is fine, but why the hell does it hop so bad.

B) An oddity ive noticed is from a 45 roll I break loose in 3rd, but from 50 I dont, Im taking it that it has to do with my tq curve?

Also, does anyone know if you can raise the rev limit to say 7000-7200 rpm on stock head? I have a built bottom end, but bone stock head.

maybe a loose motor mount not tightened enough? i wouldnt go that high revving, just risking valve float.. if you do try it, do it while dyno tuning and see if you're benefiting from it.. if you powerband just dies then no need to rev higher

Thats def a possibility, Ive had the motor/tranny in and out of this thing a lot. When I get home tonight I'm gunna go over all of them and make sure theres nothing loose.

absolutely. im on a stock head with 70,000 miles and my rev limiter is set at 7,200 rpms. it has been at 7,000 rpms or more for about a year now.

Hmm I think I wanna put a megasquirt on my tc lol I believe someone's done it... I know you had to have a 2nd expansion board (forget the name) to drive the coil packs, but once thats done you can basically eliminate the ecu from what I understand right?

You would have to run the MS in parallel to the stock ECU. The stock ECU needs to control the throttle as a minimum but you should use it to power the fuel pump, control ac, cruise control, tach, etc. etc. but you would have complete control of fuel and timing which is a lot better then using a piggyback I think. I thought about doing this many times but I just haven’t had the extra money yet to try it out.

I was thinking about going cabled throttle lol I dont have ac, and since Im using an auto ecu with 5spd, my cruise doesnt work lol, and my fuel pumps are already on a dedicated relay, attached to ignition. The only thing Id really loose with going to complete standalone is the tach - i guess i could buy a big ricer one lol

But anyways... I really wanna just go with the aem ems, but apparently were never going to see a new one Just have to find one used I guess

So i went to the track again tonight...

Still couldnt break out of the 14's lol

60's were like 2.76-2.9 lol

I got a 116.5 trap tho

I have a feeling it would trap higher, however i was bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th when I crossed the end of the track. I think raising rev to 7200 would prob put me around a 120 ish trap.

I plan on getting some drag radials or slicks soon. No matter what I do, try to launch hard, or ease into it, i still spin and get terrible times

Well maybe get a better boost controller?? Being able to boost by gear/speed or even being able to have different boost levels with different throttle inputs would do wonders and I am sure you would get below 2.5 sec 60' times with street tires.

thats exactly what you need to do. i when i trapped 124 mph the revs were at about 6900 with a 24.5 inch slick. when i go back to the track with a little more power, and a 7200 rpm red-line, 4th should have a top speed of 129.78 mph

So I double and triple checked all motor mount bolts - nothing loose - still dont understand the wheel hop :/ Anyway it could be suspension related? All Im running is some Tanabe springs - nothin special. As for engine management, Im starting to think maybe I may go the route of the emanage ultimate Anyone have good or bad things to say about it? It looks like it can do everything I want out of a standalone, for less money. (Raise rev limiter, remove speed cut, 2 step launch, advance timing) - anyone know if it can do no-lift-shift?
