I think he specifically bought a car that he will not mod,
I'm looking for the same thing now as my daily driver. I am torn between G35/G37 and 335i. I'm leaning towards G35/G37 because their engines are NA and bmw comes turbocharged, i'm worried that the lifespan of those turbos might end sooner then expected and i'm stuck with repairs, i guess i'll wait 'till august and see whats going to be around.

Well in that case, the Bimmer is still fun. However some of the N54 engine's hpfp fail. multiple times. Along with the wastegate actuators. But as long as your in warranty, they are a no questions asked repair. Anyone know anything about the new N55 twin scroll singe turbo they switched too? Supposed to make the same power, but i assume the low end torque wont be there.

If it's a twin scroll then the torque should be pretty close. The top end may suffer a little though. Depends on how big they went with it.

Selling tC for $8 - $9k which buys my 5yr/125k extended warranty on the 335i for $2k so final price of $7 - $8k after the tC sells.

It isn't about speed anymore for me, its about convenience. A built tC is not convenient. Until the ticker on the BMW says 125k, I can take it to the shop for warranty work. I can't do that with a built tC. The BMW will never see a track. The tC was awesome but the BMW represents a lifestyle change, my tuner days are over.

Very nice. If I could find a 335i coupe around here for $24k, my tC would be long gone. You got one heck of a deal

Yes indeed, it pays to have some government connects out there.

Your tuner days will come back later in life when you have the time and money for it again. I get the best of both worlds because I've got access to a BMW 5.30i that I can use at my leisure for long trips where my car isn't practical (although mildly boosted only). Driving the Bimmer truly is a completely different experience and it's very comfortable. That being said, when the roads are a little wet, I like to turn of the traction control and do a little power-sliding/drifting in empty parking lots

Thanks a lot Chris!!

I thought I emailed you, if I didn't, I meant to. Remember the 1st oil analysis I sent you which was the reason I took the turbo off to begin with, I looked at it again and i'll be damned if they ran the analysis on the wrong motor, they compared it to the 1AZFE and not only that but that copper RTV does have a huge impact on the oil reading like you said.

After receiving this good news I don't know what to do anymore, keep the tC and reboost or just get rid of it. It's under warranty until 125K so I just dunno...decisions...decisions. I still have he same goal of 300-350hp and after driving the 335 around for a bit, that 300hp feels mighty sweet.

If I did reboot I would want all the bells and whistles like PTUNING built motor and probably the Descendant kit, 3" exhaust and Haltech EMS. That might be overkill for 300hp but that's what I want, to do it the right way and not need to crawl back under that car for s*** other than an oil change.

I think with built motor and all that other fun stuff sooner or later you will go up in boost , lol...

it would be awesome thought.

So if you keep your tc that means you are keeping your fans and radiator ?

Nope, right now the plan is still the same. By the time I buy that $10k worth of stuff, it'll still need to be installed and I don't have the tools or skill necessary to swap a motor or access to the tools or skill to tune my car. I can install a turbo kit and I failed twice at changing my own clutch so right now tC > ME!
