Emanage Ultimate Raising Rev Limit on 07+
#23
Sooo, tonight I was in my friend's 08 tc and tested the rev limiter - funny enough the 08's bounce the rev limiter like the 05's/06's. I tried it free revving and in gear - bounced under both conditions, never saw the throttle cut like I do in my 07. This might mean the 07 is the ONLY ecu that cant have the rev limit bypassed. Dropping in an 08 m/t ecu wouldnt be an issue, so maybe this would be a solution? Id like to find someone who has actually TESTED an ultimate on an 08-09

Check out this thread...

It appears other people have possibly noticed this same thing. So maybe its really just the 07 that has the rev limiter that also closes the throttle.

I might have found the key here...
Just looked at the diff ecu part numbers
05/2005-04/2006 (05 and 06 production years) has one part number for the ecu
05/2006-03/2007 (07 production year) has another part number for the ecu
AND....
04/2007-up (08-up production years) has yet another ecu part number
Could this be the key? Maybe it really is only the 07 that has this issue...
So than I have to look at, if this is the case, and I could bypass the rev limiter on an 08 ecu, would the 08 ecu work with the 07 body electrical system? I checked most the major electrical components and from 07-up it shows no change, so I would assume so at this point

89661 COMPUTER, ENGINE CONTROL
89661‑21450 ANT10..5F (05/2005 - 04/2006) 1 $1,097.17
89661‑21470 ANT10..5F (05/2006 - 03/2007) 1 $880.83
89661‑21490 ANT10..5F (04/2007 - )
Im wondering if its possible the ECU change could have actually been a mid year revision in 07 (07's made late may actually have the ECU that doesnt cut throttle at redline) - to be safe, I plan on finding one though from a scrapyard from an 08 or 09 that matches the 21490 p/n

Found em on car-part - its Kinkers that has them, youll have to give them a call Monday (http://www.kinkersautoparts.com/)
Do you have an ultimate to test with? I wish I had a pnp harness, Id just plug it into my friends 08 and test lol

Very true, I HATE the 07 rev limit. It really must just be the 07, because were the only ones that every complain about it, and other owners (05-06, 08-up) have no clue what were talking about lol.
