Default Few question concerning supercharger before i buy

I have found a TRD supercharger close by and want to be sure i am buying everything at a fair price, and getting a few missing parts that are compatible with the rest of the kit. The kit includes everything excluding the intake and system managment. i was thinking the weapon R intake. with the Unichip Plug-N-Play computer Management System: Scion tC 2005 - 2006. and i was also thinking it couldnt hurt to upgrade the headers. Any suggestion on better pieces to my puzzle please feel free to let me know.

currently the only mod on the vehicle other than body, is a full borla exhaust.

I am going to be running this on a 2005 tc.

his asking price is 800 for the kit as is, weapon r intake roughly 200, system managment 500.

I am by far not the most knowledgeable when it comes to engines, so please be gentle if these question have been answered before. i have been reading for a few days through these forums and so far just find people saying these superchargers are a waste of money. i fully understand that the turbo kits are better. However i can not afford a turbo kit ranging between 3500-5000. if you have a better deal on a supercharger kit or turbo kit then feel free to let me know.

Thanks

-Justin

Well for the price it isn't bad. But most likely. If he is selling it that cheap there has to be bearing problem or something wrong so you'll most likley have to upgrade the bearings

I'm liking mine.

personally without the intake and the ecu it should be a lower price, these are going for pretty cheap now a days. I sold one a few years ago, as a complete kit with upgraded shaft for $1000, just to give you a reference point. Can't really tell the condition of the bearings until you take it apart, adding a header is not good for the shaft size bearings, if you do decide to add a header make sure there is plenty of heat wrap on the header and heat protections on the shaft/bearings.

Okay thanks for the insight. His price is 800obo so I might try to get it down a bit.

Anyone else installed the supercharger kit and did anything else semi cheap that they saw some decent results from?

Mine has EVERYTHING including a flashed ecu for sale, check the threads - I am in Harrisburg, I see your in PBG. You can keep your stock ECU.

I want a few more dollars, but thats because my kit has around 3,000 miles on it - and was a dealer replaced warrantied item. Not rebuilt. Only selling because I turn my car in to scion on Saturday (I cant wait) then its new car shopping all over again. I already have a "toy car" (turbo civic SI ep3 hatch) and a 180hp Cbr1000rr sportbike, so I am going with a luxury car, or a hybrid this time around for my daily driver.

My friend will install my S/C for you for $350 cash. It will take about 3-4 hours, and you have to pay for anything extra you need (ie: new oil, gasket sealer for oil pan, antifreeze).

I am even offering to take payments on the s/c, so if you dont have the full thing right now - you can pay me on a weekly basis until your paid - then you can get it installed.
