Sure, the tC engine can take 400hp and still run like a champ, but honestly, for how long? I'd be a bit cautious of anything near 300hp or more in the long run. That's just me though.
jus gotta say thnx for the responses guy

yea i mean id love to get 300 hp, but won't risk hurting it since its my first new car and am thnkful I got it.

So rite now the stge 0 Price wise and hp wise seems like the smartes bet if i don wanna overload my engine.

Id be tempted to get the stge 1, but worry its gonna end the life of my car sooner than if i go stge 0. Have many ppl strtd to put turbo chargers ont heir cars, cuz all i hear ppl puttin on is the trd s/c.

I personally don't think the stage 1 will do harm at all, in fact if you wanted to go with the stage 1 and yet you were worried about too much load on your motor, then simply tune the boost down with your Emanage or have a shop do it... 300 seems to be perfectly fine on the tC, just make sure you don't go past 350 or you might run into problems. Also, if you went stage 1, if you wanted to build your motor up later then you would have your intercooler already instead of having to buy pretty much a whole new kit... just my .02 though

Alot of people are putting on the TRD s/c because it doesn't void their warranty... these cars are brand new after all! Whatever you decide to go with, turbo or s/c, I'm sure you will be plenty happy with any of these kits :D Stephen

OK guys forgive me if this is a stupid question. Do you have to use high octane fuel when you have a s/c or turbo?

You'll definitely want to us 91 or 93, depending on what state you're in.

no you don't have to, it is recommended for the most efficiency and power out of your supercharger or turbo application... it doesn't hurt your motor or anything, so if your low on cash its A-okay! Stephen

Honestly when boosting a N/A car (from the factory) using 91 or 93 (premium where you are) should be considered mandatory...This is prmarily to keep the motor running rich and safe..

I noticed all these turbos sit pretty close to the hood. Any problems with paint damage from the heat from the turbo ?? Nice thread by the way and some really affordable kits.

Nothing that Turbonetics has noticed. However a heat shield like the one Turbonetics provides is a good investment.

I concur! I believe these kits do come with them, at least most... correct me if I am wrong here... heat wrap is a good investment too! Stephen

true, but better to buy that then have to pay for repairs or a new paint job on your hood later on down the road! Stephen

Quick question guys/gals:

All this HP ratings I assume are dyno proven right? And are the turbo's/SC dynoed with exhaust systems and etc....? or have been tested with a stock engine, exhaust, etc.....?
