For those with cranking issues, you should check your slave version and also your tune. My car cranks fine and I'm self-tuned.
The slave version and firmware versions had zero effect on my tune. Toan intentionally changed them on my F/IC to 'test' it out, and my car ran the exact same way, regardless of what version he used.

dude, honestly I don't understand what you are saying either. And secondly how are people supposed to learn if people that do know (i.e. you) don't help them and tell them what is right?

And if you feel this discussion is below you, you aren't required to stay. But any corrections and/or input on what is being discussed would be greatly appreciated, by me and probably a good amount of other people .

If this discussion has been had before, why is it not sticky'd? There is the buyers guide for fuel and tuning, but having read through that, my questions were not really answered.

These forums have an immense lack of stickies and info.

We should have made something like this a long time ago.

lol Curtis..

I can only speak from my experience - and that's not a whole lot.. but I tuned out my starting issues. I do concur that the FIC doesn't start instantaneously like stock - but never more than 2 secs even when hot.

Regardless, I'll be on a Hydra soon so my FIC will be a back-up.

Chad

Marcelo and I mess with you.. it's because we're down. If I didn't mess with you then I'm not down with you. Maybe I should add a "lol" after my sentences?

Because.. This post is to much what people think and not true statments!

People would read this and get the impression that the fic is not a good tuning tool which is false!

Both the greddy and ulitmate and standalones all have there market!

Ask your tuner what he like and thinks works best for you! And end it

Honestly ill tune w/e you bring me! But sometimes its pointless to spend the extra money!

For example

Last week tuned two scions. One a 2006 One a 2008. One a turbokits.com kit and one a turbonetics kit. Both 9 psi. both stock clutch, both just wanted a fun car! Tuned them both one after another. Both were amazed! both very happy and felt there cars drove like a factory turbo car [no skips, smooth transistion, good idle] The aem fic was a perfect solution for them!

This week tuesday! Tune a scion. 2007 custom turbo kit 57 trim wants fast car but cant afford to have a motor issue! Tune to 12 psi. Car runs great [again smooth tranistion perfect idle perfect cruise perfect part throttle] For these guys buying a greddy would not help them!

Yet chad who was going to come to me before his tuner had a temper tantrum.

Built motor, raised redline, water meth running 20+ psi

Greddy emanage ult is a good bet for him! He has already lost alot of the normal stock car driving features and wants a race car DD And this unit has the feature to get him 500whp +

Everyone has a goal in mind and a system that would benifit them! This post would be more useful if everyone posted there goals and what they wanted and then asked what unit to run! [/end thread]

Hey Mike, now that you've perfected my tune, I want 1000 whp on my stock motor. Can I just use a TRD reflash ECU? I wanna save weight so I don't wanna add on engine managment! Power to weight and VTECH FTW! lol

^^ wait, wrong forum... lolz

Seriously though, both are good choices, but it depends on tuners in your area be profcient with them and what your overall goal/setup will be.
