I stuck with 5w30 for two reasons 1. my car was fairly new when i boosted so i felt that a higher viscosity oil would do more harm than good considering the tight tolarances and the fact that my car is a DD and not a race car.
2. I had an oil cooler that helped to dissapate heat and help to keep the oil from breaking down.
Also found that it took quit a while in coolder weather for the oil to warm up and thin out some with that oil cooler, going to a thicker oil would make the issue worse for a DD.
This go round i plan to run 10w30 synthetic. for one its getting pretty hot around here and i dont want the oil to thin out too much. another reason is the fact iv logged over 50,000 miles on my car so far so having a higher viscosity oil would be ok to use cause the engine is getting fairly worn at this point. Im also not running an oil cooler this time around, I would but dont have the molla to deal with that.

yeah i hear you. I'm only asking because i know there was thread a while back about what oil and what viscosity should be ran on turbo motors. Read most of it but don't know what the outcome was.

yeah iv been trying to change my title as well but i cant for some reason...lol
anyways the gist of that thread about oil was pretty much to go to a higher viscosity exp if you race it.

Ok guys. Its been a while but i'm finally ready to install my kit. I got everything i need to install so hopefully by next weekend everything will be in. So as for pics here is what i have:
3" flex pipe (for modding TT s pipe)
TT 3" s pipe
TT 3" d pipe with 2 o2 bungs (question i know that most people have their wideband sensor on their s pipe but my bung is on the d pipe, will that be a problem?)
3" mid pipe with vibrant resonator (ordered an additional resonator)
Custom 3" Tri clover flange (very similar to vband flange but less expensive. This is mostly used for indutrial pipes lol)
3" axel back portion with 4" tip
3" mid pipe section where additional resonator and magnaflow muffler will be added to quite this beast down lol
3" s pipe with flex joint (came with exhaust system)
Brand new Mishimoto intercooler and old intercooler that came with kit
Color matched intercooler pipes
Intake pipe with wrong flange
Black intercooler pipes (from original kit)
Pre-tapped oil pan
Turbo smart boost controller, TT vacuum block, AEM F/IC, and 550cc injectors
TT Simple kit log mani with dump tube and 38mm Tial WG
Garret turbo with stage 5 wheel .60ar compressor, .82ar turbine
Oil pan gasket and black rtv
Exhaust manifold gasket
Oil feed/return lines
And lastly... plenty of this

I'd stay away from that manifold gasket if you can help it. I just installed a simple kit manifold and it leaked with that gasket. I had to go get the OEM-style steel gasket for it to seal properly. Good luck!!

looks good.. nice to have a vband flanged exhaust, makes life easier.. are you going for a stealth look? seems like your old one can flow more.. You will be good with the O2 sensors, thats how i have mine

exact material? I used that for awhile and it never leaked..
