wow, did you have an anti-lag system installed on your tc?

but anyway, that is bad and illegal, i think it means your igniting fuel too late, and it lighting when the exhaust valve is open and going through the exhaust manifold and turbo and such. it really isn't too good for you.

alright, my friend told me it is when you have alot of backpressure in your exhaust. are you still on stock exhaust? i guess that might be something that contributes.

Simply put: Excess fuel in exhaust system + proper conditions to ignite = flame

If you get rid of your cats and run a straight pipe, you will shoot flames at high rpms

no, a cat will blow when you have a turbo on your car, thats why when you buy the turbonetics kit it says catless....Is there alot of flame coming out and for how long of a period?

Your fine...it's normal....Your just running a little rich....dont worry about it, happens to me every now and agian...but change your exhaust to a 3' inch, you will gain about 20 whp! www.turbomafia.com

It's because your blow-off valve is venting to atmosphere.

It causes your engine to run disgustingly rich between shifts, and all of that unburnt fuel is igniting inside your exhaust.

Buy a valve that will recirculate and, providing there aren't any other problems with your car or tune, it should stop.

Turbonetics system does re-circ the BOV out of the box...... If it hasnt been tuned yet its definitely rich too... so just like everyone has commented before the answer is to get your set-up where it wont be overly rich ( tuning)
