which fmc or standalone

lol how is a turbo the "easy" route. It requires way more attention/monitoring and has a ton more potential to fail than the S/C from my experiences. The S/C can be put on by the dealer and even with a header, exhaust, aftermarket intake, and pulley (which it was not even designed to accomodate) is still pretty fool proof.

imo i dont expect the s/c to be efficient over 300hp.. you will just have to get more power from your supporting mods.. pnp, intake mani, cams, wme, headers, full exhaust, maybe some high comp pistons, race gas, built head for high rpms.. if you reach 350hp or more thats gonna be a big props on you..

I think what he meant easy route is that turbo easily gets power out of the box even w/ a simple basemap.. a s/c wil require more supporting mods coz the trd s/c would be enough to get good gains... but yeah a turbo setup is actually more complex and a lot of things that can be configured

o wait what happens when a turbo tC has new cams, pistons, intake mani, etc? lol major power. Hell all we really need is some quality Rods and pistons and 400whp is not too outrageous
running a base map is even more risky than what i was thinking about. i would never drive long term and boost regularly on a base map.....

yup built+turbo ridiculous power, no questions.. but this guy wants to be different, he just wants to make good power w/ sc.. this is not about his charger vs any turbos setup and who makes more power..

yeah easy route as in u can find full bolt on turbo kits online easy. no tuning needed due to standalones already programed. all im sayin is that i want to be different then everybody. everyone knows that u can get more hp out of a turbo. not sayin that im sayin that i want to reach the most hp out of this s/c. yes its a crappy s/c and crappy design but for it being the only s/c out there i gotta work with what i got.

there will always be better, faster, lighter, nicer, cleaner, quicker, cheaper, more expensive, more whp, ft lbs, faster 1/4mile, faster auto cross, better mpg, better mph. you will never catch up, so draw the line and enjoy it. but like rythm said ultimate will raise rpm, wich may in return get you some more ponys "maybe"

Not true. That can be said about the S/C though. Just a reflash of the ecu and that's it. You want more though you have to upgrade to a different Engine management. Same with a turbo. You want more, you have to get it retuned.

I would say get emanage ultimate, so that you can raise rpm and boost, then you'll definetly need meth or intercooler. With 12 or 14 or 16 psi on the s/c you will want to make sure you have a grease fitting on there and your keeping it lubed up all the time. Remember the heat is what really stresses the bearings.

when i was hangin out with dan gardner and the crew, i was told that making power on the supercharger is mostly limited by the compressor wheel or something. it seems that past about 8psi or so is out of its efficiency range, they said it really just turns itself into a hairdryer and essentially runs out of breath. maybe look into getting someone to make a new wheel?

^^ yes I agree.. thats why going turbo gets you unlimited power there are alot of specs you can change the turbo itself has a lot of specs you can put together (eg turbine wheel, compressor, a/r, bb), while the s/c, there's only one for the tc.. As for going the supercharger route like I said, just concentrate on other power adders coz s/c prolly would work better w/ those supporting mods
