The ticking might be moisture in the exhaust also, or it simply settling after cooling down. Chocolate milk oil is a dead giveaway of head gasket and loss of coolant like crush said. Tough call.

Just be sure to take it to someone you trust. The last thing you need is to have some shadetree mechanic tooling around a sensitive turbo set-up. Not to mention getting ripped for waaay to much money Hope all goes well!

the smoke could also be something that got stuck on/in the exhaust I've seen that before, some gummy greese gets stuck inside a part of the exhaust or on the exhaust and slowly burns off, and the tick could be stuff in the engine cooling down or low oil (my dodge has a tick) or it could even be an exhaust leak


or it could be time to change the squirrels (thought you might need a laugh)

Turbo seals would be leaking, which you could be burning up the oil in the exhaust or inside the motor. Take a REAL good look at the smoke coming out and determine if it's indeed white, or has a blueish tint to it.

took it to a shop today. Compression is good. They couldnt see any oil in the down pipe but they said they could smell burnt oil like crazy, Apparently its a bad turbo seal. So yay no engine damage

wow man thats effing lucky...id deff take a blown turbo seal than a blown engine. idk about the blown head gasket (dont have a cost figure for that but crap it would be more of a pain,,,lol)....

any ideas about how it happened. crimped/pinched drain? high oil pressure? just a factory deffect?

The head gasket would of been a cheaper fix. but more of a pain and possibly more damaging. the drain was good. i'm not sure about the oil pressure. More than likely a defect. Now i gotta figure out what im gonna do. Hopefully i can find a used turbo for a good price. Keep an eye out for me.
