forced induction w/ insurance

I have State Farm. I told them that I had the dealer optioned TRD supercharger on my car. They asked how much it was, told them it was $3200. They had to talk to the underwriters, but they included the s/c under my policy, no extra charge.

but yeah i wanted to put the most expensive stuff on the insurance if the price doesnt bite me.. With all money and effort placed on the car, its good that you have protection against drunk drivers, reckless teenagers and grandma/pas lol.. its not that I want it insured so I can drive like a dick on the streets yet still ok to wreck the car.

nationwide.. and they dont ask to see anything until the cars wrecked. And i dont have to show them receipts, but if i wreck and the parts on the car, they just look up how much it costs new and replace it. It works for engine parts and body mods.

we told our agent not only about the sc, but the other mods/add-ons as well. We added a rider to include 8k worth of value in case of damage/theft. Didn't add much to our cost, which compared to some of the other posters is lower. But that is mostly due to our age and fact neither my wife ( tc is hers ) or myself has ever had a ticket..
I personally wouldn't hide anything; id prefer to be covered completely, plus not give company any reason NOT to pay out for an incident.

I put extra coverage through my Progressive policy. Progressive includes $1000 for aftermarket coverage automatically and they have a cap of $5000 total. So, I added $4000 to meet the cap and it added around $150 bucks to my 6 month payment.
I am completely satisfied with Progressive. When some girl texting away on her phone totaled my car at the end of September, the insurance rep went to the tow yard and a check for the cars worth and the $5000 on top of that was in the mail the next day.

I moved to NYC for a job and left my car in Florida. Because of my history (2 accidents) I was getting online quotes of like 3000+ a year for insurance.
For now, it's parked in a garage in Florida, and I'm still making payments. A big part of me wants to just get rid of the car, but I'd need to sell it for $15k to pay off the loan..

I pay $350 for both the tC and our 03 350z. We have Progressive Insurance. Progressive provides a "special parts" coverage up to $5k. I have it at about $2500-3k, can't remember which, but that's for any parts on the car that I added.
Separated, the tC is more in insurance due to the "special parts" addition, than for our 350z.
Both are full coverage of course.
