Default Gauges?

dont know if this is the right area to post but i figured id get more bites here then in the Interior section.

Just bought a A pillar gauge pod to put on my 08 tc becuase im gonna go turbo later down the line.
i figured id hook up the a/f and oil pressure gauges this weekend already.
but i kinda overlooked the fact that i have side curtain airbags and dont really wanna install the gauge pod over it.
so for those of you that have the gauge pod what did you do?
install with velcro?
disconnect the airbag?
etc...

hmmm well if you have side curtain air bags i dont think it would be too good of an idea to put that pillat up what you could do is drill them down onto your dash or i have seen pillar pods that sit fight about the vents on your waterfall that might be another option for ya

yea ive seen those but didnt like the look of them and i already bought the a pillar pod, haha. i dont want to go through the trouble of returning it.
i could always disconnect the airbag, i know its not the safest/smartest idea but its pretty much all i got left.

IIRC, the way the side curtain airbags deploy the A-Pillar will be pushed inward(towards the middle of the dash) and back toward the windscreen. The only problem is the placement of the wires so they don't interfere with the deployment of the bags. You will definately need quite a bit of slack on the cabling.

Well, I got the SRS Airbags too, and I have the A-Pillar gauges up there. From the top to the bottom, Boost, Oil Pressure, EGT, all Defi Blue Racer gauges, and in the cubby hole, I got the AEM Wideband gauge.

I got mine hooked up with screws. It came with them. No problems at all. As long you don`t get into an accident and have the gauges flying into your face, you should be fine.

Hahaha, I'm not sure that is such sound advice.

It seems to my that you should just think of a different place to mount your gauges. That or disconnect the airbag. I am not sure that you want a A-piller gauge pod flying at your face at a high rate of speed.

i don't have the side curtain airbags but how mine is put is with screws that came with it and the OEM pillar was taken off to screw on the pillar. also i hope you know that the narrowband a/f won't work on our cars. as for oil pressure i hope you already have the oil pressure sender cause that gauge is really easy to install but idk about the a/f gauge.

^ are you talking about drilling holes into the pillar or narrowband A/F working?

I have the wideband, not the narrowband. Install was a piece of cake.
