No before it was ran on the dyno the tech hooked up the boost controller and closed it all the way to the right. I double checked his work and it was done correctly. There were two other guys at the shop looking everything over while he was putting it in too since they'd never seen a turbo'd tC.

I told him I'm on an 8 pound spring but I want to turn it up to ten. His immediate response was why not 12. I told him I don't think the stock block could handle twelve without water/meth or something of the like. He said he would try ten, and if that worked, eleven, and if that ran good, he would try twelve. I told him we'd talk about it lol. Should I just tell this guy to not turn up the boost above 10, or should I let him do this thing and try to tune for twelve? How could he run the boost that high and know it coudn't handle it without toasting my motor?
My car runs at 12psi no detonation.

First pull, overboosted to 20 pounds and he immediately let off. Car idles fine, drives fine, perfect oil pressure, intact block, but you can hear the rod....The boost controller was acting funky though until we took it apart and put it back together, then it worked perfectly.

So now it's time for low compression pistons and stronger rods! As soon as we get them we're going back to work. Expect numbers off a built block by the end of next week. It sucks really bad but at least it can be rebuilt better and stronger...
Except for that boost sorry to hear man. That tuner is an idiot you can tell when a car is going to over boost you don’t just punch the car after installing a boost controller. I drove my car over boosting for three months I even raced a couple of people just did not punch all the way. What a moron I would have went off on that guy. Sorry man that sucks!

Yep they're helping me out on the picking up the labor, so I just ordered the rods and pistons today. The car's going under the knife tomorrow!

Well I aim to do that. But I don't know much about making big numbers like that. What kind of supporting mods will I be needing? I'm pretty sure I should upgrade the intercooler or run water/meth to cool those intake temps if I want to run high boost right? I'm looking for a good oil cooler as I'm writing this. What else do I need?

You said you blew the motor. What exactly did you do? Lifted the head? warped the head? threw a rod? punched a hole in the block? stuck valve? crushed valve? Blown rings?

What exactly did the over boost do to you?

The list so far:

CP Pistons
Carillo Rods
ARP Head Studs
ZPI Main Bearings
ZPI Rod Bearings

We didn't know the head studs weren't reusable so we probably won't be done til tuesday or wednesday. We ditched the balance shaft too so I should pick up about 30 horses (according to ZPI) from that. Fun stuff!

You just need a good intercooler man, those pistons and rods can handle high boost no problem, with a good tune of course. Remember those pistons can handle some knock, no like the old intenals

How exactly did they eliminate the balance shafts? If they do it incorrectly, you will lose oil pressure. Please explain in detail how they did it.

We took out the balance shaft and plugged the hole with a 1/8 NPT. Is that correct?
