I did get rid of the s/c and decided explore the realm of turbo. Still working on getting some more shafts done up for you s/c guys though. And my shaft is still going strong after 1 year @10psi

I'm taking the block to the machine shop tomorrow morning, its a reputable shop that does nice work, i was just waiting on the parts so I can take them the pistons.

The wiseco pistons look almost too good to get dirty, wish i could just leave them on my desk and admire them. The rings that come with them also look just as good as the pistons.

I'm doing all the rest of the work myself, the engine is stripped and cleaned, and the balance shafts are removed. Anyone want to throw me some tips please do so.

Thanks again to dezod for a lot of support and guidance in my project.

This all started pretty much when my crank pulley cracked, then i found a compression problem, and a transmission problem, and a valve problem. So now newer built engine and an 08 manual tranny going in.

Here are more pics of the engine teardown:

Hmm, well thats not good, does the block need to be clearanced before these mods go in? Trip to the machine shop tomorrow so if thats the case would like to get it all done at once.

Prepare to tear your motor down soon and replace the bearings lol!

Rod knock is bad.. if u hear it theres an issue.. Unless ur reffering to piston slap! Whats your oil pressure at?

Also OP. What clearnaces are you using? what main studs did you use? What bearing did you go with!

Make sure u grab a new oil pump bro! Also Make sure u put the oring between upper and lower block. plug the BS feed whole.

Sick build cant wait to see it up and running! If you have any questions what so ever lemme know!

Thanks for the heads up Mike, one of these days I need to ask you an fi/c related closed-loop question, but that will wait till the engine is done. Do you guys just usually tap and plug the balance shaft oil feed with a bolt or is the jb weld method preferred?

Mine was drilled tipped using a allen bolt that threaded in all the way!

id drill and tap...plug it with a allen head set screw, maybe use some locktight or jb weld on the threads to make sure it seals and doesnt come out. just a thought

Either tap and bolt down or weld it - don't use JB Weld for this.
