large clreance somwere, oil thins out when warm, oil pressure drops lower knocking happends.. switch to 10w40 or 20w50 and drive.

also send me ur fic map...

I agree with Mike it's a tolerance issue.

Brett - piston slap is more noticeable in cold engines - when the pistons warm up, they fill the cylinder better and there is less slap. Gompka is experiencing the opposite.

the hesitation issue sounds to be tuning related. I had a similar problem between 3-8psi and 3000-4000 rpm. It was just that the fuel map blocks around that area were a bit too rich and it was pulling fuel on me. For some reason it was more noticeable at part-throttle. It feels like when the fuel level is almost at empty and I attempt to take hard turns or wot from a dig, it just cuts fuel on me.

That might be it for the hesitation, but the knocking I still have to figure out.

I think the camera makes it sound extra loud, but it is pretty loud. I'm gonna check some things tomorrow to try to narrow it down before I take the motor out and crack it open. No more starting it for now I think, don't want to cause some catastrophic failure, whatever it is, it seems fixable.

do your fans come on at the same time the knocking starts? the noise doesn't begin gradually, it's very all of the sudden. im thinking it may have something to do with the thermostat or water pump.

extremely odd that the noise comes on that suddenly like its switch activated

maybe do another vid but give it some throttle so we can hear the noise in correspondence with RPM

engine temp is normal, right in the middle of the gauge. The knock follows rpms, gets faster with more rpm and slower with less.

that's very strange that it just comes in all of a sudden. Do you have a stethoscope? That way you can narrow the location of the noise down. Most anything else I am thinking of would constantly be making noise. Do you have an oil pressure gauge? If so, what is it at? Or does your red oil light come on when the noise occurs? Hope it is something easy/cheap. Sorry to hear this bro!

also, does it run any differently once the noise appears? Do you have any datalogs on the knock sensor?

Doesn't run any different once the noise kicks in, oil is clean, no check engine or any other light. I'm going to check the oil pressure tomorrow and if its low i have a spare oil pump i can try, if that doesn't do it, engine is coming out again i guess. Just wish I knew what it was so I can be prepared for the fix.

Default Noise possible vvti

Check your vvti gear. If I'm not mistaken it activates between mid rpm and once engine hits normal operating temp..
