Default Has anyone plugged there intank Fuel Pressure Regulator.

I been pondering this for a long time.. But finally got off my @ss and got some $hit done before my motor comes back.. I was thinking of ways to plug this little sucker up. In doing this you can bump up the fuel pressure using an fuel return system. If you didn't plug it up the reading on the FPR on the return setup is only going to read between say 43 psi to 50 psi at most. Well I know AAM has their own and won't release theirs unless you buy their who return system. Then p-tuning made plugs but aren't available yet. I took mines out today and did it in about 20 mins or so. Get a rivot that is some what shallow (3/8 in. ) and about as big as the diameter of the whole on top of the intank regulator. with a small plastic or rubber or sealing washer for extra seal and just rivot it. Looks like this

now I can adjust my fpr to what i desire or what ever the pump can handle. I have a 255 walboro pump and never was able to use it to the fullest potential. I'll post pix up and dyno sheets and vids when I get my car finished for this summer.

ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE A FPR ON A RETURN SETUP OR YOU'LL RUN RICH AS ALL HE// and just cause more problems.

Yeah I got a GE rail and an aeromotive -6 a1000 reg. but i still can only push out max stock pressure which is only about 43-50 psi. I need to be around 60 with the new fuel setup i'm trying to run. I wasn't able to produce that until i plug the stock intank reg.

Are you guys running the stock fuel lines then? Since you still have the stock reg. in place then I would think your using the stock feed line.

Negative. Stainless braided lines with -6an fittings custom rail, aeromotive adjustable reg, 255lph walboro pump, 700cc injectors. Stock regulator is just a plug for me now nothing gets through it.

not possible... It's in the tank so you can't bypass it, you can only eliminate it or just nullify it. Your fuel sees it before it even leaves the tank. I think your confusing what is attached to the stock fuel rail, thats a pulsating dampener.

I did a write up about this a while ago, not too many people then understood the benefit.

fyi....silver is the feed and blue is the return.

I found this very simple to do and you by-pass all the bs thats in the stock housing......straight out of the top of the pump straight to a -6an fitting.

you do know the stock regulator sets down on the bottom of the fuel pump assembly where the off yellow locking clip sets right?

Mine works similar to this setup but I still use the stock housing ONLY to hold the pump in place. Is it really that hard to understand?

Hope you like my paint skills

how hard was that to modify yamaha? i am thinking about doing a return style since i need to buy a new fuel pump and would like to setup a return style at the same time as replacing the stock pump...

Its not hard at all, you just need some mechanical experience and tools.

If you do a return setup you will more than likely need a aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and different fuel rail. I actually mocked my factory setup cause I'm using a Aeromotive bypass regulator so fuel going to the rail just sits there at a constant pressure waiting to be used.
