Looking at the factory pin outs E8-34 looks t o be just a common ground for both. I moved the pins closer on the cam and now the EMS is seeing a cam signal now. Car will still not start though. I'll send the new log over

We have a cam signal now. Is this a built block?

A few notes I have noticed....

He's getting a high crank speed during cranking. Usually it's around low 200s, not mids. Not sure 100% on that one. The battery voltage is only 10V, which is pretty low. Might want to snag a new battery. Low voltages can REALLY mess with the AEM stuff. I saw this on an IS300 that was registering 9.8V-10.4V during cranking.

He's not getting timing errors, which is good. Means the EMS is liking the cam/crank relationship.

But, it's almost like the entire thing is 1 tooth off on the cam side. That would cause the sync errors which would stop it from having a stat sync.

Is this a built block? built head? Stock cams?

First time i ever opened it up was this past weekend to tighten the cam sensor gap. All 100% bone stock motor. Battery may be a couple years old though, its an optima yellow top. I'll have to look into it

1st some ECUs wont function at that low of voltage. If you know anyone with a manual battery charger try to borrow it /use it. Zap it at high charge for 15 mins then slow charge (2 amps or lower) for several hours and recheck the battery. That has worked for me on 95% of those batteries the entire time I was in the military.

2nd like Paul said the oem ecu will start the car even if Crank or Cam sensor is not working as long as the other is working correctly, it just cranks longer.

Charge the battery and plug only the oem computer in to see what happens.

The main issue was that the ems wasn't picking up the cam signal. I fixed it by closing the gap between the cam pins and the sensor to .020 after that it picked it right up. A few data logs and a couple changes to the cal file got it to start right up
