Default HELP!!! I need to shed some light on this issue.

Ive posted a while back about this issue and i know there are some other posts on here that are similar but i wanted to update my situation and hopefully get some info that will help me out.

Sent turbo back to precision for another issue. Came back with that issue fixed but then it came back with an oil leak. So i sent it back and they said the turbo looked fine but they went ahead and supposedly through new seals in it.

I get it back and still OIL LEAK.

So before i send it back to them they told me to check for other issues to make sure its not my car instead of turbo. I never had a problem with an oil leak prior me sending it to them and nothing with my car has changed but here is the updated info:

No high oil pressure...its at 20psi idle and 60 psi WOT

I have no positive crankcase pressure. (Did vacumm test)

I rerouted my oil return line just to make sure. It now has less bends.

Changed out PCV valve and made sure there was no obstruction on breather valve.

I dont know what else to check. But im also getting white smoke out of exhaust now and im sure its oil. There is no blue tint and does not have a sweet smell to it.

Car info...its an 05 with 90k and has been turbo'd since 10k.

Is there anything else i can check so that i completely cancel out issues with my car and send it back to precision knowing that its the turbo. I have read other posts on here with people saying they have had the same problem with precision turbos and it took a few times for them to fix it. Could this be the same case with mine.

THANKS!!!!

Oil return has less bends? The oil return should have a bend period! There is no pressure returning the oil. It just drips down. If you have bends then that slows the oil from going into the oil Pan. Just take it to a shop see what they say.

yea im starting to think that ima need to go to a shop but i dont know of any good shops in the dfw area. And what i mean by bends is that my return line had a nasty 90 degree bend to it.

is the oil leaking out of your seal? where else does it leak?
Does your turbo have oil restrictor built in?

Check your oil restrictor, it might be the oil restrictor's hole being too big, its pushing too much oil into the turbo causing oil leaks and the white smoke --> Although your oil pressure gauge is reading normal oil pressure.

I had to replace my old oil restrictor (left) with a new one (right) and with way smaller hole...and it fixed the problem instantly. No more white smoke, no more oil leaks.

Hope this helps, if it is the problem.

to my knowledge you do not want to run a restrictor with precision turbos. call them to verify though. but with my 6076e i do NOT run a restrictor plate or anything thing of that nature.

What type of turbo journal bearing or ball bearing? Ball bearing requires less oil than journal bearing and you will need an oil restrictor.

lol thanks death lemme know what happens. I have a ball bearing turbo and yes i do and need to run an oil restrictor. I have done and checked everything i know of to make sure the issue isnt my car.

So i called precision again and will be sending off my turbo today. Hopefully the issue will be corrected this time. They say 3rd times a charm.

Is your air filter clean? Sometimes if there is any sort of restriction on the intake side it will cause the turbo to go into a stasis lock which allows the turbo to spin free and fast because it won't move any air due to the restriction. This will cause the bearings to blow be damaged eventually but in the interim it can cause a vacuum which will suck oil past the seals and introduce it in to your engine.

Also check to make sure there isn't oil trapped in your intercooler. This will cause you to burn the oil as it is being forced into your intake manifold a little bit at a time.

take a cruise around the block without the oil cap off and see if your problems go away.
