thanks for the advice everyone the only problem im having is choosing between turbo and s/c as i want a little more noticeable power but dont want to spend a ton of money as im saving to get a 'busa in the spring and nothing I can do to this car could touch that thing. Like I said i just want a little more power to hang with stock srt's and definitely to beat cobalt ss/sc!! cuz i just think those are ___ IMO.

Im boosting an auto 2002 Camry with the Dezod kit now (my car in avatar) and my goal was 300whp. We share the same engine but have different tranny's so I wonder if I will be fine with that amount of power. Any suggestions?

I been to all the camry forums and NO ONE has a boosted Gen 5 Camry except for me. I spoke to Paul and he said that my gear ratio's are longer than the TC's auto tranny. So im still wondering since all the TC's are saying not to go over 250whp on an auto tranny can I achieve more with my tranny or am I limited to the same rule?

Same here. Its obvious he has no clue to wat he is talking about or he wouldnt of made that ignorant statement. B4 he speaks he needs to realize that the 2AZ-FE that is in his TC came from the Gen5 Camry.

steven, it's not the power they make that's the problem, it's the power the auto tranny can sustain...after 250 you would begin to see slippage and eventually blow your tranny

if i go get a new custom kit made...i'll give you mine

To get help get back on track.... Right now im making around 225whp but when i build the motor i hope to go for around 300whp - dont t plan on building the motor to go with really high boost levels just wanting to build it so i know itll hold up for a long time. As for the auto tranny, if i have the valve body modified/replaced would this allow the tranny to handle much more power or would the entire tranny need to be built (replace clutches, bands, torque converter) to get it to handle any more power.

the thing holding u back mostly is the torque converter.. doing just the valve body wont do crud. u will have to modify alot more than that.

so if i was to make one mod first on the tranny - it should be torque converter?

um no.. it should be everything that u need at once.. why risk putting new things ina nd having them wear away super fast or breaking? i wouldnt be suprised if ur clutches were worn down pretty badly aswell.

I would advise you to get a S/C 9.5 psi pulley, CAI and exhaust all tuned that should put you at 240whp, which should work just fine on your auto and the best part you can be a sleeper, without a doubt you would beat a stock srt 4 (neon or caliber) and the Cobalt SS
