The real question is can you find a SC dyno at 195 and the stock dyno for the same car without SC on the same dyno? that would be an accurate comparison.
In any event, if you take the lowest stock dyno (140hp) and the highest stock SC dyno (195) that's still only 55hp.
My turbo kit put down 252 at 5psi, and the same kit is putting out WELL over 300 on other cars.
But the turbo kit you got cost more and if you were to put the same amount of money or less into the S/C (9.5 pulley, header, intake, tune) then the numbers would be equal or greater.
Someone else on this thread (keep forgeting the OP) has tuned his stock s/c at 227whp. So 250whp or greater can be attainable with the mods i listed above.
I'm not trying to argue with you but i wanna give people more options and the S/C doesnt suck like everyone says.....I'm pretty sure your knowledge in F/I is much better than mines but for me as a DD, S/C is perfect for me.
Also for 1850 right now, why not?? even if its 40 hp (i'd still say around 50) its well worth it!

right. I agree. My whole point was $6K for 200hp increase is better then $2k for 50hp. I put in $6K and can get 350hp on the stock block.
I think the new price on teh SC is worth it. The old price was not. I just like the fact that I can get my full HP at 5K rpm, where SC only maxes out at redline.
It just sux that on other, bigger cars, you can get 50hp by bolting on an exhaust

^^i'm pretty sure I wasnt getting the full seven pounds, I personally havent heard of stock sc getting the full 7 psi, it would be safe to say that with a better BPV 187-189 is possible.Someone here in scionlife was getting 192whp from a stock SC, bosch 110 BPV and a trd exhaust. Theres a few graphs over at clubsciontc.com that show about 136whp for a stock 5 spd,so it varies.If you read carefully that graph you linked over from dragtimes you will realize that the car dynoed 136 stock and 142 with a fujita intake, most likely a CAI by the improved top end and decrease in power down low.

I was going to link the one that lists 160hp, but it had header and a full exhaust.
There are alot of easy bolt ons you can add to the SC and get it up to 200, but I was just commenting on how much just the SC alone give you.
with all the variables, the only way to really test is taking a stock dyno, and then adding just the SC and taking another dyno on the same machine in the same conditions.
To me, when your dropping the cash and adding FI, a difference of 5-10 HP is insignificant.
I just don't want someone purchasing the SC, thinking it's going to get them 230HP and wishing they had gotten a turbo kit instead.
The SC is great (at the new price for 05-06) for certain reasons. But getting 230HP and running 13s is NOT one of those reasons!
Oh a side note, it seems to me that the reason most SC aren't getting the full 7psi is due to the BPV and a slipping belt.

yep, im only getting 5 psi with the stock bpv LOL. but hopefully forge 007 will take care of that.
so im thinking in conclusion:
if you want more power -----> turbo
if you want that extra push, warranty, ect ect -----> s/c
and also you gotta look at how much your willing to spend.

I wish I would have gone turbo...Im trying to jump in one ASAP but saving money is hard! Almost there though! I would jump into a turbo if i were you dude, but then again it all depends on what you want...if your happy with the 180-200 whp (what every the S/C is?) then go for it the price is dropped. But if you want more torque and Hp then turbo is your friend! Save a little longer and go Turbo I know you want to I know I do

If your not looking to spend a whole lot of money but still want to do the turbo instead of the s/c then watch the classifieds here on SL. Some people have pretty good deals on hardly used kits. Just be sure you research the kit before you buy and make sure you know what could possibly happen when and if you turbo the car. I got a used kit for a good price. I have yet to install it but it looks like its going to work out good.

what i say go with a dezod turbo or like A greddy turbo kit. and if you want to get a trd supercharger you need to find someone that knows how to install the supercharger because they would need to aline the shaft in the right place. turbo would push alot faster but the supercharger would be a lot safer if it's done correctly
