Default how long will a stock clutch for the tC hold with 12psi?

i'm wondering how much the stock clutch on the tC will hold if boosting 12lbs. I'm not a crazy driver like some people. No hard launches or anything. And im not like those people who race and go crazy everyday. Again, my question is. How long would the stock clutch for the tc hold if boosting 12 lbs. thanks.

well at 12 lbs, the stock clutch will wear out a lot faster. I would say anywhere from 1 month to 3 months, depending on how you drive, and the horsepower transmitted to the tranny.

well here is my 2 cents... I have heard numerous times that the stock clutch will handle up to about240hp....but if your plans are to go at least that if not higher... your best bet is to replace the stock clutch before it fails...and while you are at it (installing a new heavy duty clutch)....it would behove you to install a LSD at the same time if you're looking for those kinds of HP numbers

the stock clutch can handle around 200-220whp, you will blow up your clutch the first day

this is coming from experiance, the stock clutch doesnt like 12psi at all........it will kinda hold at first but heats up real effing quick and slips real bad. it happens to me all the damn time. 7-8psi it holds the power a little better but will eventually heat up and start slipping. iv been working on trying to get a stage 4 clutch but of course plans didnt really happen.

All solely depends on how you drive it. I can make it wear out in a matter of hours, or a matter of months.

its mainly more on hp/tq than boost.. it wont last long if you race or drive where quick engagement is necessary.. you can make it last a bit longer when you take it easy while shifting even you boost.. still better to get a clutch at hand though until the day comes that your clutch goes

its really impossible to tell.
this is the equivalent of the "how long will my stock shocks last w/ springs" threads

well at 9.5 lbs of boost mine handled about 2 months. And then i found myself slipping all the damn time still driving it though its been like 5 months now. Its still driveable, but if you wanna race, your not going anywhere

Well since we're on the topic and my parts will be in very shortly, what do you guys find to be a nice, smooth engaging clutch that can hold atleast 315/320ish? Not going puck because im not going any higher in the future.

Your torque #'s are what you need to worry about. At 12lbs nomatter how you drive you will be blowing your clutch within a 6month span for sure nomatter what. When you shift you are causing A LOT more friction due to the torque levels. Don't wait till you blow your clutch. I put a new clutch in, flywheeel, and LSD in at the same time. I did all of that while I was running 9.5lbs - my clutch feels great, grabs low, and I didn't have to worry about blowing my clutch and not being able to get to work.

I know a puck will hold, my fear is driveability. Does it allow any slip for times in traffic? Seems like most people on here were running standard disc clutchs rated for 350 and up tq.
