How loud is the whine from the supercharger? Ive never really heard one in person but i have from other cars like a supercharged NSX, S2K, RSX and TL. They all seem pretty loud but from watching videos on the internet it dosnt sound like the TC superchargers are loud. What do you guys think? I like the loud whine from other superchargers.

sounds more like a broken rattle rather than a whine

isn't very loud really at idle, barely noticible unless you pop open the hood and listen to it. sounds kinda like birds chirping or a little wood pecker.

under hard aceleration at high rpms, it makes kinda like a buzz saw noise, but then again, that might be more because of my header and exhaust, it gets really loud...

but stock supercharger with stock exhaust and intake, not much louder then stock.

the type of supercharger we have is different from the ones your thinking of which is a rootstyle supercharger.

we have a centrifugal supercharger which doesn't sound the same at all. its more of a whistling noise then a whine

really? my friends RSX has a really loud whine which sounds nice. he's got a comptech supercharger. you can hear his supercharger when his car chasing you.

the TRD s/c for the tc doesn't have the badass whine like other s/c's. like everyone else said, it's more of a whistle and you can barely hear it, esp. at WOT

okay, just watched some videos on youtube of supercharged rsx's and the answer is no, the trd supercharger does not sound anything like that.

My first SC sounded like a jet taxiing. The new one is really quiet tho.

i guess because of the design too. most other aftermarket superchargers are the same in design but i remember something about the TRD's being a bit different.


the whine on the others sound nice like comptech superchargers on these cars.....

I took my s/c through this 2 mile tunnel (harbor tunnel in Baltimore) yesterday, and laid into it from 3rd (45mph) and pretty much blitzed through 3rd and 4th. The sound was better than anything I have heard in my life, the way that it echoed through this tunnel. I have the forge BPV so you could hear it vent SO loud through the tunnel. Everyone says the S/C sounds like chirping and birds.. but mine sounds like its "pumping" real hard.. I dunno how to explain it, most turbo's sound like the "wooosh" then the vent off, my s/c sounds more like the chirp/birds at idle, then over 1k rpms it sounds like its just pumping lots of air, then at the 5k shift point, it makes a "pssssting!" when you switch gears.. I NEED to get a video in this tunnel... Best $2 toll Ive ever paid!

Whenever I go down near Baltimore i take the harbor tunnel. It gets so effin loud in there. Especially when there are like 10 of us going to a show. So fun!

I heard one in person with a bov and it sounds awesome..i mean its no turbo but it sounds nice when you drive off. Personally some superchargers just sound like RC toys to me but w/e.

OMG, either one in my tc PLEASE GOD! I love s/c sounds, I HATE turbos, I think its kinda annoying but omg fords s/c always sound amazing, wtf toyota!!!! Anyway to get one in a tc?
