I think if you are still able to drive, it'll be really slow.

Otherwise, no, you won't be moving at all.

It'll either lock up, which could lead to much more trouble or it will just keep slipping.

Without a clutch, you're not beating anything. 1st gear will be completely useless. Just get the clutch, get the flywheel and get the car tuned.

when your clutch slips, say it's like giving your car a little rev into 1st gear and starting off. imagine now the clutch is only 50% engaged (pedal on the way up) the motor and trans aren't going going to hook up well. the motor will spin the clutch creating lots of friction and slippage causing a "burnt clutch" smell and the clutches friction materal to grow weak and not transfer power to the trans effectively. causing slippage.

while your at the speed shop, ask to look at different clutch disc to get a better general idea on what to look for so you won't get a clutch kit thats too weak or not streetable.

or go to autotech school like i did and you'll learn a lot more. :-)

this sounds like noobie street racer talk. to beat a fast car, you should start with a fast car.

5.0 fox body mustang.

Another way to explain it, is that it feels like the tires break loose. It's just a more embarrassing and more expensive smell.

right! and when you do take the clutch out, the smell stays there for a while. almost as bad as when you have an electrical fire.

Body style FTL, 305 FTW! However, I'd rather start with an LS3, LS7 or LSX .

<3 muscle cars.

But the gas mileage sucks.

I'll take a small engine with a turbo off boost any day of the week ^^

Well until I get paid more, lol.

Since when did a fox body start out as a fast car... Did the stock 5.0 fox body come with around 225hp at the crank???
