Default I <3 APR In-Line ECU

Well, I tuned a local customer's S1 last night on a mere 5 PSI and I was so impressed with the drive-ability and response. Boost came on real quick, held and seemed to have a decent TQ curve (better than most S1s). All though, it's identical to the off the shelf ones with the exception of the APR unit. I think this is my absolute FAVORITE EMS for the tC, hands down. A little work to get setup and rolling in the right direction, but overall an awesome system. Next appointment with this guy is 10, then 15 PSI on his stock block. I am looking forward to it.

It will end up fine so long as the tune is rock solid.

maybe. but all the stock motors i've seen have gone pop around that psi. i remember seeing that guy from puerto rico running 16 psi on a stock block. thing had a great tune on it and was running strong before he built the motor. when he took it apart he found that all the stock rods were bent. i think its just too much psi for the stock internals to handle, even with a perfect tune.

3 out 0f 4 were bend and one piston has some minor damage.

But look what we are installing now!!!!!!!!!! Can you see the difference???

It's a brand new set of K1 connecting rods from DEZOD.com with CP pistons.

I guess we already know the limit of this engine ( stock internals). Hopefully we found it without having any bad expirience . We are currently asembling all back together and in a few days more I will post the results. For now I will say that we made a lot of modifications including a new NOS system. I can't wait to see the results. Whish me luck because my intentions it's to push it to the max!!!!!

I think he was also at 16 psi with a gt35r which I am sure is a much bigger turbo then what is on that stage 1 but I may be wrong.

i don't know...i'm tuned on 14 psi stock engine, using the AEM F/IC, still going strong. i would imagine with an inline ecu, the car would be just fine. but then again, i'm only at 308 whp.

small turbo. it is a gt3071R with a GT28 compressor cover for clearance reasons. very tight fit.

It seems a lil low but then again it could be conservative.

yes sir. i wanna do some changes down the road to make the car run alittle smoother. one is get this inline ECU, and the other is change the intake pipe to a blow-thru MAF set-up.

Smoothness will not come from the choice of MAF location. It will come from the engine management and the tune. I can not emphasize that enough. I have done blow through and pull throughs with identical setups and virtually no difference except in light throttle transient movement. Other than that, it's all down the engine management and the guy behind the keyboard.

It is a pretty trick unit. I'm impressed with all of it's capability. Now if it could just go get me pizza....
