I JUST INSTALLED A TURBONETICS KIT AND I NEED HELP BAD!!!!!!
I am having a problem with the my O2 sensor. I have a 07 Scion tC, with a turbonetics kit for a manual transmission. I need to know if i am supposed to put a standalone engine management system in it. I really need some help because i have already bough and installed 2 O2 sensors in the last month.

I dont understand what your talking about? You dont need a Standalone EMS for the kit, the Turbonetics kit using the Unichip, but you can use any Piggy back system such as the AEM F/IC, Greddy Emanage (Blue, Ultimate)....What are you having problems with your 02 sensor? Primary or Secondary?

i got the turbo installed at millenium auto in portsmouth va and they told me that the car was in great shape. i went to the dealership i bought the car from to double check everything because the check engine light would not turn off and they told me that the brand new o2 sensor that i just installed went bad. so i went to advanced and bought another and the car is idling real low. it is idling warm around 650 rpms and it just doesnt feel right. i was told to bite the bullet and go out and by a standalone ems for the car. if there is some other type of solution to fixing this problem please let me know. i dont really want to spend close to $2,000 on this if i dont need it.

Did you buy the kit used? As far as i know the turbonetics kit wasnt made for the 07 up you have to get a different MAF flange. But the kit shoudlve come with management. Either an AEM Fic or the Unichip. That needs to be installed and you need a tune. The Turbonetics kit wont run without that very well. Honestly you seem like you dotn know much about turbo's from this post. Your also gnna get a CEL with a turbo unless the downpipe is catted. Although you may still get one.

i had to replace the o2 sensor before the cat. the kit did come with a metal pipe that attatched to the down pipe that the o2 sensor screwed into. and for everyone that is _____ing about my posts. a message told me that i cannot post a message again for a few moments and i assumed that it meant that the message didnt go through so i tried it again a few moments later. sorry.

1andonly... your first problem is that you took your car to millenium. Those guys are idiots and shouldn't be trusted to work on anything, not even a lawnmower.
as far as the check engine light, your car is going to throw CEL's.
If you are who I think you are, Feel free to have shawn call me and I'll explain what you need to do. Also I know another tuner that will do a much better job than millenium.
Stay away from them, they are shady, and are clueless when it comes to quality work.

here is the proof

they changed their name to MRD after alot of shady business around 06-07. On top of that, the theft going on over there is rampant. Granted, they aren't in the best area, but they do nothing to protect your vehicle. They also are not responsible for any damage/theft etc.

yes get used to the check engine lamp. And don't rely on a deaership they don't know what to do when the open the hood and see a turbo kit. All they do is follow Toyota repair manuals. What you need to do asap is get your car re-tuned.

im also willing to bet you have the aem fic (I only say that cause alot of places that sell the turbonetics kit for the 07 up tc just replaces the unichip with the fic and includes a maf flange). It may not be setup properly and may require further tuning. It will be to your benefit if you got a laptop if not you can still do most of the functions with a desk top.
