Sooo... your telling me I can drive the car WITHOUT a tune and still be ok??! Or will the ECU pick up "bad habits" from relearning the engine? IE... If I can meet Dezod somewhere in buffalo... I could drive the car there?? roughly 85 miles / 1.5 hr drive... obviously not beating on it

Ok... to make sure im on the right track... here is a list of parts that have been acquired... please add to the list so I may have something to reference so I don't forget anything!!

Starting from the Engine bay rearward...

Exhaust manifold: Good
Turbo: Good
Downpipe: Good
S-pipe: NEED
Cat: NEED (I've heard conflicting things... whether I truly need or not?? Want to try and stay legal!!)
Wastegate: Good (to be changed later)
Exhaust: NEED
O2 sensors: Good (Can stock be used??)
Oil lines: NEED
Oil pan: NEED
Injectors: Good (to be changed later)
Fuel Pump: NEED
Fuel psi gauge: NEED
Intercooler: Good
IC piping: Good (may need modifying to fit application)
BoV: Good (Recirc... changing to Atmos.)
Filter: Good
Clutch: NEED
ECU: NEED
Gauges: NEED
Vacuum Lines: NEED
Hardware: Good (will prolly need more lol)

... again this is just off the top of my head... work is killing me right now and there isn't enough monster in this place!!!

Forgive me for the redundancy in questions... do it right the first time and save a whole bunch of headache later!!

Plus I'm trying for future builders to have a comprehensive "materials list" of what is needed!! Couldn't find one of these on here!!

Thanks!

**EDIT#1: Added "S Pipe"... which ihnc what the hell this thing even looks like lol and the catalytic converter... again I have heard conflicting things whether or not I actually need this or go cat delete??? Im just concerned about trying to keep this thing legal on the road...**

No, they send you a base map. Most time the car won't start when you have increased injectors over the factory. ECU doesn't know how to compensate for that. So, the management comes into play and for that you would already have a base map on it.

Ahh... now the puzzle pieces are coming together!! Guess it's a good thing I haven't pre-emptively installed the new injectors!! Hahaha trying to get some stuff done!

I don't regret getting my raceland. For 250 bucks its done its job. When I say 3 inch exhaust I want to hook up a vibrant ultra quiet and a turn down off the s pipe primarily for track/summer use. This raceland has the perfect volume for me anyways.

Done with job #2 on the day and some developments to post...

I will be doing a "leak down test" on Friday along with some new oil... so I will see how the motor truly is...

That being said... Monday or Tuesday, since we have a "heat wave" coming our way ( yes 50° right now is hot for us!! Lol) New Era Performance is going to do a base line dyno run for me!! So that will give me starting numbers... now I just need the weather to stay cooperative and I can start tearing into this!!

Mornin bud!!

Yes... I just booked my appt for the leak down test and putting royal purple "blood" into my motor for tomorrow... Big thanks to Morris Auto there!!

And the Dyno run yes is on the "stock" set up. I have a short ram intake on it currently.. a no namer, but I can definitely feel a pick up in the tq... plus it sounds nice!

The guys @ New Era have been very accommodating especially since they mainly deal with LS/LT GM motors and platforms!!! I will post the run sheet as soon as I get it!! Again... this is just so I can see where I'm at now and where she will be when the FI swap is done!!

Havent seen any replies regarding the list...?! Is there anything else you guys / gals see that I'm missing?? Trying to plan out how many bananas im going to have to shell out to finish the install!!

Also... been reading on the Dezod website, the AEM F/IC... it say 05-06... im just going to assume its for all tC1's?? Or... does the Greddy EU come with the harness, or is that sold separately??

Welp... bad news (sorta)..

Just got off the phone with Paul (@ Dezod)... thank GOD I made the call when I did...

Come to find out there would be massive amounts of custom work involved alone for the down pipe / S pipe assembly to make this work... more over the manifold will cause a bunch of headaches.

The IC piping I currently have, would more than likely require custom fab work or an actual new kit purchased to make it fit...

Alone just talking about a new manifold, the custom down & S pipes, and the EMS... I am looking at almost $2g... so for the $$ I would've spent to get that all done plus the $$ spent on the kit... I could just buy the Dezod kit to start... which is now the direction I will be heading.

I am still going to have the leak test done and Monday the base line pull done for a starter sheet... I will continue this thread on the build... which wouldn't commence until the weather warms up anyway...

Again... A MASSIVE THANKS to Paul for really clearing out the gray!! and all you who have read and commented!!

Long story short... if it sounds too good to be true... it usually is.

I told you I was crazy!!

Trust me man... that was the exact same thing I was thinking... but I am soooooo thankful that I made that phone call! The cool part is the guy I got the turbo off of said "no prob... bring it back."!!!!! I am off the hook there and will spend the $$ on a quality kit that will do me actual justice. Plus with the location of Dezod to me... its a win win!

I will say here and now... for all to read... Dezod isn't "out for themselves"... paul literally tried helping me figure out my situation with what i had available and laid it out in black and white... no sales pitch, no b.s., he gave me options to make what I had work and the real numbers... the almost hour phone conversation put it all into real perspective... it wasn't going to work unless i invested some serious $$... so he helped in saving me THOUSANDS. I will stand behind them any day... I will have a tC with a seriously bada$$ Dezod kit.

You get to bring it back!!! WTF!!! You are the luckiest dude alive. You know that dude on the other thread trying to do this got stuck with that sucker! Man you lucked out!

And yeah, Paul seems to be the real deal, but he has a reputation that he has stuck by and now has to live by; any bad review on him and he's done for, since his name around here is thrown around about every 3 or 4 posts. I'm glad that he helped you so much, that's awesome.

I know right??! I definitely was ready to have to eat the entire thing... but like I said many posts ago... ive know him for a couple years now and we are both military... so it will work itself out... Ill just help him sell it. The kit is virtually brand new... just for an xB, not a tC...

Given the demeanor an attitude over the phone... I think Paul is one of those guys who actually likes his job! Hahaha nah in all seriousness tho... with the knowledge displayed and so far genuine help even when the product wasn't his... yeah I don't think he or we have anything to worry about!!

I DO love my job wholeheartedly. I am glad it comes through. I was a consumer long before an insider into this industry and I try not to loose sight of that. When you are on the inside track, it's easy to lose sight of the consumer's perspective.

And there you have it folks!! Straight from da man's mouth!!

That's awesome to see someone like you with that attitude!! That's keeping it in the winners circle for sure!!

So now, hahaha, my questions will be directed towards the Dezod kit... The tap for the oil pan... wouldn't you need a bigger pan to compensate for the additional oil?? Im going to have to research the stock specs (capacity)... and would it be beneficial (if available) to have a better pump installed??

No. There really is no extra oil. Just extra passage for it go through (oil feed, CHRA, oil drain line).

Fuel pump is always a good investment with FI
