I need to find good prices on turbo parts please (reliable).
So yeah, long story kinda short. I have been into imports since before "Fast and the Furious" (you know, the first one?) But, turbos were always out of my price range. Now I can finally see the light and am looking at piecing togeather a kit over time. No, I cannot afford to do it all at once. Yes I searched, and rifled through the threads. So my inquiry is this......
I would like to make 300 whp, where can I find some reliable parts at decent prices? So far the list goes as follows for parts.......
T3 Turbo of course, or should I go T3/T4? Is used ok to keep prices down?
Manifold with downpipe (looks like ATP is about the best place)
38mm wastegate (is Tial the only good name?)
550cc injectors (do I have to have vehicle specific?)
Oil lines (can I just get some universal kit like the one ATP has?)
Intercooler (what's a decent brand to look for considering price and quality, also size?)
Piping (can I just use a kit from eBay considering none of the sites list material compostition, ie. "2024 T3 .063" tubing"?)
Which fuel management to use? I really don't want to destroy my motor.
Gauges, gauges, gauges!!! Which ones are really needed?
Turbo timer, can't I just include this with some fuel management contoller?
I do realize this is quite a bit of info I am looking for, but ScionLife has always been good for that. So although I am probably inviting some flamage here, I really do appreciate any help given. Thanks, and have a great day!!!!! :D
Side note, thankyou SL for letting me post here, if it were'nt for this site I would'nt know half the stuff I do now.

you can search around maybe in the classified section, there are quite a few selling full turbo kits will save you lots of time and money.. but you wanna do custom? remember custom setup may get you a cheap setup but piecing parts together could cost more, you might get a bad combination or sometimes it becomes a trial and error and they eventually fail.. so i suggest getting a setup done be reputable companies since they have done some R & D for you.. maybe get a slightly used one for cheap
to answer some of your questions,
1. T3/T4 should be good, but what turbo specs?
2. Tial wastegate is common and good, but look into synapse engineering.. they came up with a good one
3. Injectors are vehicle specific, other vehicles have similar one to ours but its not gonna be plug and play
4. gauges you need, A/F ratio/wideband gauge, boost gauge, EGT gauge, or oil pressure gauge.. those are the essential one IMO
5. Fuel management.. AEM FIC, greddy emanage blue or ultimate.. aem they said is the better one
6. turbo timer, not necessary but if you got money wouldnt hurt
7. you're gonna need a whole lot more if you go custom, couplers, clamps, bolts, intake pipe, bov, flanges and a lot..
use the search button and you'll find lots of infos

Gauges, if you are trying to cut cost, All you really need is a AFR (Wideband) Gauge & Boost. Others are useful though.

synapse is pretty new, so anything bad/cons about their wastegate? their demo video seems convincing.. they also came up with a better bov too i've heard[/quote
I've messed around with a synapse, and wasn't to pleased with it. But it is really up to the OP on what he wants. I rather go with a trusted brand like Tial!

Well, I still plan on doing a custom setup. And although I do really appreciate any advice given, what I am really looking for is answers to the questions listed. Please do not misunderstand this for being ungreatfull, I am aware that everyone here is just trying to help me into a safe, and fun turbo experience. Thanks again all. :D

boosting on a budget wont get you far lol
i though about it but i went with
tt basic kit 3100
fic 300
wideband 200
exhaust 100
boost gauge 200
tuning 3-600
2000-3000 would be a hard task
t3t4 650 garret
tial wg 250
manifold 600
injectors 400
fic 300
tune 3-600
getting custom pipes and all that 600
by then you will be wishing you would have just bought the kit

Well, it's not so much the overall price (allthough I am trying to keep price down) but the all at once price. I can do a piece here and a piece there, but the Air Force is'nt what I would call a "lucrative" career. Yeah, I probably did'nt spell that right. Sp doing one or two at a time would be great.
