[quote="dziuniek"]Nope, wouldn't do it. Hate neons.
Reliability is supposedly crap, unlike your toyota.
The car is older too.
Is the warranty (you said it's still in place) transferable to a new owner?[/quote
there's a reason srt4s arnt made anymore, they cost dodge so much money in warrantees cuz they blow up.

I took some time to find more information on the Neon SRT-4. It seems as though the engine is actually manufactured by Mitsubishi so it is probably a decent engine. Then again it's had work and probably been driven hard.
Valuewise the trade would be almost even based on a "good" rating using kbb.com. I like the way they look but I've never ridden in one. My biggest concern would be that it was Dodge's entry level car. It's the cheap model to just have people in a Dodge if they can't afford anything else. It's not that they are bad cars but manufacturers cut corners anywhere they can to get the price down.
Check out some reviews:

I still have a gut feeling that it wouldn't be a good trade but it's not as bad as I first thought. The biggest things I think you should be concerned with is the engine and transmission and all the other parts that it has in common with every other Neon.

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to look this up, and still being interested in helping me sort my quarter-life crisis.
To everyone on this site who's never driven/owned one, it's just a NEON, but after researching, and thoroughly reading through articles, reviews, ect, you find that these cars are not Neons at all. A vast majority of their internals, and the engine alone is not of a Neon. They coincidentally also have a 2.4 which as opposed to a "NEON" has a 2.0, you realize it's not JUSt a Neon with a turbo slammed in, and then sold to the American just to see what happends. Worst case scenario, I'd end replacing the transmission (and that horrible shifter) and costing me at most, $2000. I look at this way: the money is going to be spent anyway. SRT4 for $15k and maybe replacing a $2000 tran, or my $17k (it's my pay off)TC and a $5.5k dollar turbo kit to get the same power I'd get from the SRT4. I'm trying to be as logical as possible and open to all possibilities...
I'll be honest, out all of the replies i've gotten from this thread, your first one hit me the hardest . "Don't let short term speed cloud your judgement. You'll be buying into trouble and it'll cost you later." Those words have been bouncing in and out of my thoughts from the moment I read it.. "____, short term speed.... that's exactly what this is. Let me just hold off"-
I don't know if you've seen this-

...the car is hard to resist.
