Default Installing S1 Dezod kit. Couple quick ones...

So I got a fantastic deal on a S1 Dezod kit used. Anyhow the kit comes with everything but I was looking at replacing a few things before the install.

Does Dezod carry a copper manifold gasket? Can't seem to find it on the website.

Should I upgrade the clutch while I'm installing? I would assume the stock can handle 8psi no prob.

Will a front strut bar fit or is the ic pipe get in the way?

New motor mounts... yea or nay

New spark plugs a step colder?

Any other general info or tips that I could use would be super. This is my first turbo install. I will post pics of the install and see what you guys think.

Thanks!

In any manual vehicle I have ever had, a clutch upgrade was never a bad idea. It will save you the hassle in the end of having to get towed if u do blow it...

Yes to the plugs.

I have an ETD. Kinda noisy, but its nice for take off. Motor mounts i do believe are quieter, but harder to install.

Strut bar "normally" fits.

general tips: Read, read read! Just starting browsing the entire FI section. I have spent years on here (3.5 to be exact) reading about and wanting a turbo. Now that I have ordered, I'm still nervous about install...

Thanks, appreciate it. I have been reading and floating around on these boards for over 2 yrs now. I am more nervous rather than uneducated regarding turbos. NOt to mention everyone has different opinions, testimonials, theories etc. Thanks again for the reply!

Get An oem.. The coopers ones have been proven to suck.

Should I upgrade the clutch while I'm installing? I would assume the stock can handle 8psi no prob.

8psi on a dezod kit should be fine depeneding in how you drive! If you beat it, get a clutch.

Will a front strut bar fit or is the ic pipe get in the way? yes it will fit

New motor mounts... yea or nay YAH

New spark plugs a step colder? One step colder for Bellow 8 PSI 8-14psi 2 step

Any other general info or tips that I could use would be super. This is my first turbo install. I will post pics of the install and see what you guys think.

Take your time.. Do it right.. Get a good tune!
Thanks!

Have fun!

Dezod does carry a copper manifold gasket. Get one step colder plugs. Upgrade the clutch. Get motor mounts. I dont think they are quieter. They work much better than an ETD. Strut bar should fit. But search the forums for people with Dezod S1 kits and see if they have pics of there setup. If they have a strut bar then there ya go.

thanks for all the replies. Ill try the oem mani gasket with copper rtv. Just keep an eye on any leaks. also, I have a zpi lw crank pulley. Now I have heard both pros and cons of keeping it or returning to stock. Do you think it will throw off anything?
Thanks!

Thanks again guys for all the help. The former owner used Rp oil. I would assume I should stick with that... What weight would you recommend? Also, what is the part # for the NGK step 1 colder sparkies? Next Sunday is the install. Now just finding a tuner in CT. Not an easy task.

Thanks

Yeah the Copper Gasket ended up not working as well as we hoped so we pulled it from the site. Stick with the OEM gasket and make sure the manifold flange is straight.

Motor mounts:

In stock ready to ship.
