Intercooler & Pipping Upgrade (Quote!)
I currently have Dezod intercooler pipes (2.25inch), intake (2.5inch) and Intercooler.
I wanted to upgrade to aluminum pipes to 2.5inch all around and the intake pipe 3inch along with a bigger better flowing intercooler (i dont know which intercooler im being offered.)
It is going to be custom made plus its going to include all materials including couplers, ect.
Between parts and labor it is going to run me $1300 installed.
Is this a good price or what is your opinion ?

PM me Kumitsu. I gotcha!!!
There you go !!!
But still post your reasons if you don't mind as I am sure a few others might want to know, besides myself. Plus there are a few things I would like to elaborate on.

Bigger pipes will slow the velocity of the air... You won't gain anything by just increasing pipe size alone.
Most likely all he needs is a more efficient core and he would be set. Bigger is not always better. But I am just assuming......won't really know until he elaborates on his motives.

or so i was told by many people, honestly i dont know since ive never experienced smaller or bigger intercooler and pipes.
I was told by a mechanic that if for example, your turbo flows at 1000cfm, you should get a intercooler that flows more than the turbo for example, 1500cfm.
I am not verry experienced with intercoolers and their differences.
I almost forgot to mentioned im running a GT3076R, dont know if this matters.
any help would be appreciated.

Between Paul and Todd, I don't think you can get any more expert
Just my .o2 worth...
Leave your piping the way it is, no need for that expense..save it for another part of your build.
I would however look into a larger more efficient core.... As I do not know exactly all the stuff Paul at Dezod offers I can't say go get this or that.
I can however tell you to stay away from the typical styles(no matter what the size) of intercoolers you commonly see.
I now use only Garret cores, if you want I can offer you a core with custom tanks that will work ideally for your situation.
But you always have options.
Good luck!

So i wont benefit from upgradng intercooler pipes to bigger sizes, but i will benefit from a better intercooler core ?

You are a long way from maxing out the flow(volume)of your current size intercooler piping. 95% of the turbo kits that are out there available for the TC's, including my old versions could all benefit from a more efficent intercooler
I picked up quite a bit of power on a same kit(apples to apples) just by switching from the typical ic's you see to a Garrett core. Well worth the little bit of added expense.

Kool, How will i know which intercooler is better flowing, since most of the information posted on the sites is just how much HP it can take.

+ the better cores use a higher grade aluminum and don't suffer from the heat soak issues as fast as the typical versions.
Garrett makes a great core
PWR makes a good core
Spearco makes a good core
All would need to have custom tanks made.
aI would stay away from already made "cheap" versions, they will only hurt you in the long run. A lesson I have already learned
