Internals for S/C Application
#23
OH! I could ask RIPP about it! Of course RIPP made good stuff for the superchargers.... is he a SL member too? If so, what is the username. Thanks
Also for Dezod, thanks for the info and I still need a specific pistons for the S/C applications like the Turbo application is 8.5:1.

I think Charles, who goes by Turbo Customz, is running 9.5:1 CR pistons. I would go with those. But if you want 9.0, I'd ignore the difference and get the 8.8s from Dezod. With 8.8:1, you could run a super small boost pulley (14 psi) to get more boost earlier. That way you can minimize the amount of time you spend in no/low boost which'll minimize the disadvantages of running low compression.

9.5:1 is almost as stock. 8.8:1......I don't know if would do good cuz like Dezod said, it might feel sluggish and no boost. Also is more for turbo application like 8.5:1 which is the perfect C/R for turbo application.

I just found out that custom 9.5:1 pistons from arias is around $930 ....yikes!!!

Really? Let me know what they say and I'll talk with RIPP tomorrow and see what they recommend or maybe they'll custom make for S/C application just like they did for the CAMS.

i wouldn't waste $$$ on getting internals with the s/c. You're not gonna be pushing anymore power than the stock internals can take anyways. Plus if you do spend the money, you'll have lower compression pistons compared to stock and be making less power with the s/c than you would with stock internals.

I wouldnt wanna change my compression ratio at all when I had my car with the blower...thing was slow as hell off boost to begin with, I cant even imagine what it would be like lowering the compression...RIPP is gonna tell you the same thing Im about to tell you, stay with stock compression, but aftermarket pistons with stonger rings/lands.
