Default Just Installed S/C (UPDATE: PICS IN 2ND POST)

...on my friend's tC (like I have that kind of $$$?!?!?!). It's an '06 5-speed (BSP), already fitted w/ some cosmetic mods; stuff like pedestal spoiler, lip-kit, leather interior, carbon-dress kit, etc. Man, this thing is turning out really nice!

I came in near the end of it, right before they started to install the new air-box and such, which turned out to be the biggest pain of the whole install (it turns out we forgot a step :S). We're a little unsure about the placement of the new belt, it may be a little off on one of the idler pulley's; it idles fine and revs fine, but this may become a problem eventually (he's taking a look at it tomorrow morning when there is more light to see). This guy knows his stuff, he's already built a professional race-wagon that did drag-runs really quick (already sold on eBay to make room for the tC). He installed it with little help (me, a noob, and one other knowledgeable helper) right in his driveway.

We believe it's the only tC in the Fort Myers area of Florida that is supercharged, or at least nobody had the local Toyota dealer install one in, because they would've charged us for the tools to install it since it's the first; they couldn't even flash the computer, they didn't have the tool necessary for that! But we've seen a ?couple? of turbocharged tC's in our area.

I decided I'm just going to cosmetically dress my '07 FM tC (also 5-speed), upgrading to the '08 headlights (w/ HID), TYC taillights, and HID fogs (probably VRD fogs). Don't know what else I'll be doing beyond that for now, but I'm considering an intake/exhaust replacement. But before I do anything, I have plans to build a new computer first, hopefully this coming winter ('08).

I'll be back there tomorrow night, and I'll bring a camera to show what it's like. Plus I'll get a good shot of that idler pulley and the belt so we could get a second opinion on it's placement.

Other than that, good stuff. I can't wait to get back there tomorrow.

Alright, just came back from his place. I snapped two pictures (one of the engine, one of the pulley I was talking about). Here they are:

Engine Bay-

Pulley-
(the best picture I could get, in focus; the one we're concerned about is in the center of the photo, second one down)

We're a little unsure about the placement of the new belt, it may be a little off on one of the idler pulley's; it idles fine and revs fine, but this may become a problem eventually (he's taking a look at it tomorrow morning when there is more light to see).
He's already ran it a few times and so far no problems with the belt or the pulley, so we're pretty happy over here.

He took me for a quick run in it, too, because I've explained to him how I'm not sure if the power gain was really worth the price for the S/C (I've never tuned/boosted a car before so I'm not very knowledgeable); and man, did this thing prove me wrong. The force can literally pull me into the back of the seat at any given time, and instantly. I gotta say, I'm impressed with this machine!

Anyways, just wanted to share this with the community. Any props go to my friend, John. It's his ride.

Last I talked to him, he's not swapping headers. I'm not sure about the pulley upgrade, but from the way he was talking I doubt it.

It's a really great ride, already modified beautifully. Did I mention the two-tone leather interior? :D
