Booo!!! What you doing on SL then?

I'm messing with this guy on Youtube right now, cause he thinks GTI's are gods gift to the road, and talking crap about Scions. SO, I had to let him know my tC would crap all over his junk.

This is not an xA forum and you OBVIOUSLY don't have any friends in this thread.

i dont take anything personally...its the internet

for me, toyota buying there way into D1 is shady. the tC isnt rwd and shouldnt be there. plain and simple. they have been pretty successful in drag acing and should just stick with that (for now). there are alot of rumors that the next tC (or something from toyota) will be cheap and rwd. but those rumors have been floating around for years. there is alot of talk about nissan bring out a cheap RWD car (plus the Hyundai) also so maybe toyota will be forced to compete. if they do then by all means get get into drifting but not with a poser.

you know if honda said they were going to campaign a RWD civic in D1 you guys would be ripping them apart

^^ And now with the new 2009 Matrix that is about to hit with the 2.4L and AWD, Scion may have another route to go. AWD Turbo Scion? I can dig it!

Rhys Millen drives the Pontiac Soltice Drift car.

Sam Hubinette drives a Dodge Charger

Jr. Gitten drives the Ford Mustang

----all of them are back by American Factory Automakers, and you want to tell me that Toyota getting into D1 by making a tC RWD is shady....

PS.....Honda's don't make enough tQ to compete in FD..... (J/k, I know there is the S2k, but have you seen what it takes to actually make that car stay sidewayz?)

all of the american cars your listed are sold to the public as REAR WHEEL DRIVE cars...what if a chevy drifted a cobalt! and dodge sent out a caliber!

the tC is not a RWD car there for should not be in Formula Drift

right..because when you completely change the drive-train of the a car , thats only a minor detail...

your blind faith in toyota/scion is entertaining...what if they take an xB2 to the WRC?! o0o i cant wait to see you jump on that bandwagon to!

If they can take an xB to the WRC and make it competitive, more power to them....

By the way, I'm a drifter, but I have a 350z to do that with. So, the only drivetrain change I would do to my tC would be AWD conversion.

Stop taking it so seriously man, Scion isn't doing anything to you by making a FD entry. Of course cars in drifting are RWD, but drive-train changes are not Un-common. AWD to RWD conversions, and when you mash a Titan V8 into a 350z, I don't think stuff actually bolts up like it was meant to go in there.

Not arguing if it's ethical or whatever for Scion to do this, I am just more interested in what parts they use from what car to do the conversion. It's still a pretty cool idea.
