Checking out now. Hopefully this read will last a while, at work and need something to pass the time
This is an excellent excellent read!! Sections 102 and 103 really help to shed alot of light! Little more familiar with compressor maps now! Thought i'd never understand them!

Hmmm, okay, i'll try to ask a question to keep this thread alive. So, so far from info posted up and links, we've discussed a/r. With a/r loosly under our belts, what are the characteristics of a turbo that define it's trim? For example: 50 trim, etc.

Trim is more or less a ratio between the inducer and exducer of either your compressor or exhaust wheel. It basically tells you the difference in diameter from the part that pulls the air in, vs the opposite end of the wheel where it spits the air out. Trim will shift your air flow characteristics but other parts of the turbo do as well. Having a higher trim turbo in a small AR will not always mean its a "top-end" turbo for example. Hope that makes sense.

I'll try to write some more in a little bit. Every time I make large informative posts, people like them, want a sticky, nothing happens, then the thread falls off the face of the Earth. Then the same questions start getting asked over and over again.
