Default Lil puffs of white smoke normal?

I don't have the pcv/crankcase breather connected to anything. i just have the hose coming off of it. I noticed today that if I hold it up i can see little white puffs of smoke coming out. I mean they are very tiny. i can only see them if I hold it up against a dark background like the insulation on the hood. i never noticed before but I also never looked. Checked the oil, level is good and clean, everything else looks good. Is this a problem or am I paranoid.

ok, i just got nervous too cause at idle i noticed that my vacuum is only at 16 where it used to be 19, but I was having idle issues so i have 20 deg of timing pulled out, it corrected the idle problem but i wonder if that is what is causing my low vacuum. (i know i don't have any vacuum leaks, i already checked)

ur fine.. you really should have it connected tho.. or atleast make some kinda capture device thin-a-ma-jig. sounds like too much to be blow by.. might be tho or just that the oil is hot.

well heres a sure fire way to tell if you have blowby. start your motor and let it get up to operating temp. pull your oil dip-stick tube out, if there is white smoke coming out, then you got some problemos!

same thing happened to me..
thick white smoke coming from the crankcase vent.. excessive blow by

do a compression test.. your rings could be fried.

I also had the smoke coming from the dipstick while running

compression in cylinder 1,3,4 = 150 (normal)
compression in cylinder 2 = 70psi

I also have a spare block that detonated in cylinder 2.. let me know if yu have a problem with that cylinder
