Looking for 300 whp out of my t-netics kit with uni-chip
Like the title says, I'm looking for a little more power out of my kit. Has anyone successfully gotten the uni-chip tuned and upped the boost a little to make 300 whp? For those running this set-up, what did you have to do to achieve this? O and no bashing the uni-chip! Not looking to upgrade yet due to $$$ and the fact that my car runs as if it were stock with the turbo. Current set up is stock except for the upgraded Holley fuel pump. All input from this kit's owners would be most helpful. Also if you got your uni-chip tuned in Illinois please give input on the shop.

dont know if this will help but, there is a kit out now for the XB2 using the unichip @8.5 lbs already pre tuned here http://www.fastscions.com/fastscions...-2011-xb2.aspx
havent seen anyone running it yet but they say its making 300 hp and no hickups at all

You need a bigger turbo. The exhaust housing on the turbo that comes with the kit is just too small. I replaced mine with a .69 and picked up a lot of top end. If you want to add boost you can have someone richen up your map. I had GRD Performance in Villa Park, IL adjust my map to add 10% more fuel. I now run 10-11psi daily for over a year now with no problems. The car is way faster with awesome torque and solely limited by tires. You can always call GRD and ask them if you can send in your unichip.

Any turbo kit out there for the tc should be able to make 300whp!! Just take boost and a tune. And the boost level needed all depends on the size of the turbo. The following numbers are from 3 5spd kits ive done on 2 different cars.
ZPI stage 1, 270whp@11psi
Greddy Kit, 270whp @8.5psi
Custom Kit I pieced together using a Presicion SC61 turbo, 323whp @10psi
All 3 turbos are different sizes. Its not the boost level you have to worry about damaging your motor, its the TUNE. When i forst started boosting TC's, i wouldn't take them past 270whp. Thats dam near twice the stock hp (stock is 140whp... i've dynod 2 differnt stock tc's). Now... in my car... i'm gunning for 360whp. daily hp will be around 300-320, but i have a Blitz electronic boost control so i can preset 4 different boost levels. all it takes is a turn of a **** to go from 300 to 360. but like i said... the tune is the most importand thing you can do to your car.
Dont have any experience with the Unichip, but i would take the advice of someone that has already acheived your goal succesfully.

Now that Unichip is offering their tuning software for $290 and on-line tuning support, the lack of local tuners isn't as much of a problem for the more hands-on boosters.
