I drove it to toyota yesterday and their service drive is the size of a small warehouse, when I pulled in everyone in there stopped and started staring at my car. As a matter of fact even the valet kid kept asking "Wow I bet you can pull some serious @$$ with that huh". The car seems to be a bit more eager to spool up. I cant really tell if its making a difference because im getting hardcore compressor surge or the BPV is releasing too early. Long story on both but ill post up a video tomorrow possibly or thursday of what it sounds like. Im putting the 9.5 NST pulley back on wednesday night. It should be pretty loud now..... Alas the supercharger finally sounds like a supercharger and not just a squeaky belt.
Did you change out the 2 (gated) bearings to ceramic ones in the compressor housing as well?

You changed 1 bearing, which one? at shaft (2 pcs) or impeller?

Good news Kik thanks for the update on the changed bearing. If you changed ALL bearings to ceramic.... I'm willing to bet the s/c would most likely be very silent during operation just like a Rotrex s/c used in the 350Z

Keep them reviews & video cumin'

I think just the opposite, I changed 1 impeller bearing and it got louder. I think it sounds better.

Sorry kik but I don't get you You mean to say that the compressor blades are spinning faster now hence the whirring got louder AND at the same time it eliminated the 'chatter' at idle which TRD says its normal for centrifugal compressors (last page of install manual book)?

Sorry if I didn't understand or follow your explanation above. thks

No, The compressor blade is still at the same speed, its simply the bearing is making a different sound than the ones that come spec'd from the factory. The chatter isnt completly gone, its just lessened.

ok, that clarifies the issue. Good that chatter has lessen, some owners somewhat find it irritating at idle, according to them reminds them of a muffled diesel engine

thnks matey, look forward to the weekend before pm'ing you on full ceramic replacement set.

Hmm... any chance we can have the SC sent to you, you add the kit and send it back?

This wouldn't be immediate, don't worry, I was just curious

I don't know if I have the concentration and strength of will to pull apart the SC

Yes I can do the rebuild in house here.

As far as the DIY I have one somewhere around here where I disassembled mine. I moved this last week so I havent had the time to make the video (I have to make it when I start the car for the first time for the day if you want to hear the difference) Should be able to get it tomorrow morning hopefully before I have to goto class.

Bump for the video with sound. Ignore my squeaky belt. I noticed this morning the belt is rubbing somewhere and about to shred itself.

I figure it would sound really high. Sounds like a proper sounding centrifugal supercharger scream.
