LT1 Camaro VS. SC tC
I have a simple question for you guys?
What would it take on a TRD supercharged tC to reliably beat the LT1 F-body in my sig by a decent margin that would be both noticeable on a track and at the street?

s/c wont cut it......maybe if the z28 was stock and had a bad driver....my bro used to have a z28 those thigs are no joke.
but on the other hand turboing the tc will do the trick, you will be stomping all over LS1's like SS ans corvettes =)

Any LT1 questions please refer them to me know them inside and out not to mention top to bottom. Has one for 11 years.
Just crossed over due to gas prices.
A bone stock LT1 with an auto or manual can go 14.3-13.7 depending on conditions and driver.
Seeing as most at least have a gear, exhaust and intake they are in the 13.2-13.0 range. Heads and cam or power adder is just another story.
Problems you will see beating them is that they go faster very easily.
Do not even try and LS1 since they are even easier to mod with more gains.
Here are a couple of pics of my camaro I just sold. 415rwhp 11 sec daily driver all motor.

Im gonna say it is gonna have to take one heck of a monster SC tC to take on a LT1 F-body...A turboed tC may be a better choice to take the LT 1 on... It seems to me that the SC tC's might want to keep an eye on there older, less whp siblings and here is why...

TRD tC has a ZPI 9psi, ZPI crank pulley, DC header, INJEN custom CAI and a borla exhaust.
ZPI turbo xB has ZPI turbo kit and custom exhaust.

Back on topic - Sounds like people want to know who they can beat mainly because their friends have those cars and are wanting to race. its better to know who you have a chance at beating before hand.

The auto f-bodies are know to pop a tranny or two even stock if you work them hard.
My car was on its 8th trans since I owned it but that is with a bunch of track time and a ton of daily driving. 3200 vigilante convertor and two trans coolers with upgraded hard and soft parts inside the last one did last a long time just took awhile to find a nice combo. Car had close to 200K on the body, 6 different engine combo's. I got bored easily lets say.
Still miss it though but times change.
Nice car, Looks like you dropped it pretty well, stock SS front look better in my eyes.
I ran hals/qai all around so I could drop it in the summer and raise it in the winter and slap on some snows and rock it all yera round. Was a blast.

oh man - im loving that car - i do agree that that grille might not be the best but it sure as heck does look good. I was a big muscle car fan growing up and never thought I would own a toyota ....but I like the scion .... but that doesnt mean that I wouldnt like to get a nice gas eating car for the weekends in the future.

Oh no I didnt actually own that SS, I was going to buy it. I took it for a drive though...and let me just say when you hit the pedle to the floor those things move. It was a 6speed though, not auto. He had some bolt-ons, so it wasnt stock. I wouldnt doubt for a second that it was in the 12's in the 1/4 mile.

Roll Race = G4y!
Anyways, dont even bother racing a LT-1 w/ your S/C tC. You'll be wasting your time and gas.
