On my kit, I had to tap the head in pretty far with a T-27 or T-25 thread tap and die set. I had to go in about 1/4 inch further for the T fitting supplied in my kit to actually thread. Before it was doing just like you said before and trying to thread half cocked. After I tapped it in (using loads of grease to keep the shavings) it went in like a beauty. My hose gets re-routed back into the intake pipe. I regularly check it to see if any oil is getting recirculated but the hose never has any oil in it. No residue. I pulled the valve cover off the other day and it has several baffles in my 07 to keep oil from making it through the other side so maybe the 05-06's don't? Not sure but at 9 psi on my ball-bearing T3/T4 T-Netics setup, no oil blow through yet!

even with a catch can (pos catch can btw) i had oil make its way to the intake pipe...most likely it was due to high revs but not 100% sure. point of the filter on it is just to keep anything from going into the engine and to help keep oil vapor from possibly being sprayed in your engine bay.

Ya, i've seen some honda guys with those and they use them for like 30k miles soaked and their engine bays are filthy. If you replace them when they get damp, you'll be fine. Crush, does your valve cover have those baffles like mine? I'm not sure if they changed the design or if I'm just a lucky turbo'd TC.

iv never taken the valve cover off, i will soon though. got a head comeing this friday (stock used head) and may swap out heads for a bit and have mine pnp'd. just have to see how money flows plus i got to pay for turbo as well.

yea i jsut called my dude he is goin 2 pick up his tap& dye set from his friends and bring it to work tomorrow i may try it myself or let him do it.. ill hit this up with an update tomorrow after work !

Just make sure to use TONS of grease when tapping and don't try to tap it in one shot. Tap 1/16 of an inch at a time. Basically, when the tap hits bottom, turn about 1/2-3/4 turn and back it back out. Clean out the hole, clean off the tap, and re-grease it. Rinse and repeat until your fitting goes in. Remember, TONS OF GREASE! lol
